If you’ve ever felt intimidated by the idea of a circuit class, I want to show you just how simple and welcoming it really is. I snapped this photo right before my session on Monday to show you what a typical setup looks like 🏋️♂️✨
As you can see below, there are no complicated machines or overwhelming gym setups in my class. It’s just a clear, open space with simple stations marked out on the floor. But don’t be fooled - the workout can be as taxing as you want to make it and yields great results. My class have all progressed so much in the last few months 💕
Here is exactly what you need to know:
🔹 What is it?
A circuit usually consists of 8 to 10 different stations. Each station focuses on a specific exercise for a set amount of time. Once the timer goes off, you take a quick rest and move on to the next station until you've completed the full circle (and we’ll repeat it three times)!
🔹 What do you work?
It is a full-body workout designed to keep things interesting. A standard circuit will target your lower body, upper body, and core, while also mixing in some cardio to get your heart rate up.
🔹 Why it matters for your future:
Beyond just breaking a sweat, the strength-building elements in a circuit are a form of future protection for your body. Building strength now protects your joints, improves your bone density, and ensures you maintain your mobility and independence as you get older. Plus it’s great fun, and ensures you carve out some time for yourself which in its own right is beneficial!
🔹 Who is it for?
Absolutely everyone! You do not need any prior experience to join a class. The best part about circuit training is that every single exercise can be scaled up or down. Whether you want to use heavier weights, lighter weights, or just your own body weight, you get to move entirely at your own pace.
If you’ve been thinking about trying a new way to move your body but were worried it might be too daunting, let this be your reminder that it’s just a welcoming space ready for you to try your best.
Who's ready to invest in their future health? 💪
