This pumpkin & chickpea laksa soup has become one of our favourite easy weeknight meals lately 🧡

It’s warming, fibre-rich, freezer friendly and packed with nourishing ingredients like pumpkin, carrots, chickpeas and ginger. I also added laksa paste which gives it the BEST flavour and makes it feel a little more interesting than your standard pumpkin soup.

Dietitian tip: adding chickpeas helps boost fibre and plant protein which can support blood sugar balance (especially important for my followers with PMOS), gut health, fullness and overall fertility health ✨

Perfect for preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, busy weeks or anyone wanting an easy nourishing dinner.

Save this for your next cosy dinner night ❤️

Comment “SOUP” and I’ll send you the recipe directly.

Warmly,
Connie

Fertility, Pregnancy and Reproductive Health Dietitian

As a fertility and pregnancy Dietitian I hear this all the time.

“Nutrition doesn’t really make a difference.”
“It’s just luck/genetics/IVF.”

Meanwhile me internally: channeling Cillian Murphy looking deeply unimpressed.

Because here’s the thing, nutrition is literally the environment your eggs, s***m, hormones and growing baby exist in.

We’re talking:
• egg and s***m quality
• implantation
• hormone signalling
• inflammation + oxidative stress
• nutrient stores for pregnancy

It’s not everything… but it’s also not nothing.

And if you’re going through this journey, you deserve every possible piece of the puzzle working in your favour.

If you’ve ever been told nutrition “doesn’t matter” — this is for you.

Because it does. 👀

If you want a practical starting point, I’ve put together a preconception checklist.
Comment “CHECKLIST” and I’ll send it your way ❤️

If you are in the two-week wait, it can feel painfully long and emotionally heavy. ❤️‍🩹

If you are overthinking every symptom right now, this is for you. 🌸

Nothing feels certain, yet everything feels significant. Every sensation can seem like a sign, and it is easy to start checking, analysing, and going back and forth in your mind.

This part is hard in a way that is not always visible to others.

You have already done what you can. Your body is not waiting for you to figure it out or monitor it perfectly. It is already doing what it needs to do.

It is okay to feel hopeful, and it is also okay to protect your energy.

You do not need to keep searching for reassurance. You are allowed to step away, to rest, and to come back to the present moment when things feel overwhelming.

Right now, supporting yourself can be simple. Focus on nourishing your body, getting enough rest, and gently distracting your mind when it starts to spiral.

If this feels like you, you are not alone.

Save this for later, and send it to someone who might need it.

If this feels heavy, you do not have to go through it alone. My DMs are always open. ❤️

Warmly,
Connie

Recovering from a C-section? ✨ Grab my free guide

Your body just went through major surgery…
and then you’re sent home to care for a newborn.

But when it comes to what to actually eat to recover?
Most women are left guessing. 🤔

I created this post (and guide) because it’s Caesarean Birth Awareness Month and this is something we don’t talk about enough 🙌

😮 In Australia, 41% of women had a C-section birth (2023) yet proper nutrition guidance is rarely part of that conversation.

After my first C-section 👶🏼 (I’ve had three!), I realised how much of a difference nutrition makes when it comes to:
- healing
- energy
- feeling like yourself again

Especially when you’re running on broken sleep and coffee ☕️

There are a few key things I prioritised early on but most women aren’t told how to actually do this day-to-day.

So I put it all into a simple, practical guide:
✅ what to eat for healing
✅ how to support energy & milk supply
✅ easy, realistic food ideas
✅ a printable checklist to make it doable

I wish I had something like this after my first C-section!

💌 Comment RECOVERY and I’ll send it straight to you

Warmly,
Connie ✨

Trying to conceive doesn’t mean you need to give up everything you enjoy…but it does mean being aware of what could be working against you.

Saunas are incredible for relaxation, stress reduction and circulation but when it comes to fertility, regular high heat exposure is one of the most overlooked factors when it comes to fertility.

👉🏼 For men the evidence is clear:
Regular exposure to high heat has been linked to reduced s***m count, motility and increased DNA damage.
The reassuring part is that this is often reversible within a few months. 😮

👉🏼 For women the data is less direct:
However, elevated core body temperature can impact early pregnancy development and implantation, making this a factor worth considering (especially in the two-week wait).

The take home message? 👋🏻
You don’t need to overhaul everything.
But ignoring the basics doesn’t help either.

Save this for later ❤️
And send it to your partner if they’re a sauna lover 👀

HELLO! 👋🏻 ✨

I thought I’d reintroduce myself as we have lots of wonderful new faces here. A big warm welcome and thank you for following along.

My name is Connie and I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian & Nutritionist and Certified Fertility and Pregnancy Dietitian, supporting women through preconception, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond 🌸

I’m based in Geelong (originally from Melbourne) and absolutely thrive near the beach and sunshine 🌊☀️

Food truly runs in our family: my entire family has careers centred around food.

I’m a mum to three very spicy girls 🌶️ including our resident ‘boss baby’, and we share our home with a ginger cat named Herb who lives for food and chaos 🐈

I’m also a loss mumma. My son Finn was born sleeping in 2022, and this lived experience profoundly shaped both my parenting and the way I practise as a dietitian.
It was the catalyst for opening Womb Nutrition, so I could support women with deeply compassionate, evidence-based care during such a vulnerable time 🦋

I love swimming, yoga, strength training and cheering my kids on from the sideline at basketball and netball 🏊‍♀️🧘‍♀️

My favourite foods are pasta and pizza 🍝🍕
I eat fish for its health benefits… even if we’re still not best friends 🐟

I’m so grateful for this space and the privilege of supporting women and couples through one of the most pivotal seasons of their lives

✨If you’re here because:
• you’re trying to conceive
• pregnant and overwhelmed by advice
• navigating postpartum recovery
• or you want nutrition support that feels supportive, not stressful for your hormone health

You’re in the right place 🤍
