One of my former collegues reached out to me to share her reflections after reading my book. We go back long way starting in mental health in one of the most economically disadvantaged areas of Melbourne more than a decade ago. We both listened to a fair dose of heart felt stories by clients we worked with: stories of struggles, hopelessness and dispair often quietly admiring our clients' strenght in finding courage to go on.

My collegue shared with my a reflection how valuable it was for her to read about tragic situation I experienced with all the vulnerability it takes to share a story like this, that is personal

She is right. We all have deeply challanging stories we carry with us. Often those stories do not see
daylight. They get buried in strong debilitating emotions they create those of sadness, shame, guilt and embarrassment keeping us stuck in trauma vortex preventing us from speaking up.

This experience although traumatic made me stronger.....this is why I wanted to share it with you.

Great weekend talking about my book and embracing authenthicity when discussing a deeply personal story. Authenthicity of conversations resonated with my audience on a deep level. Sharing of personal experience brought us together in that moment connecting us through vulnerabilities we all have as humans.

Vulnerabiliy although culturally uncomfortable at times unrevels a real strenght showing parts of us that used to be hidden, our fears, imperfections and wounds.

Over the years i have learnt that those moments of being brave and true about own experiences are incredibly rich in meaning - making,  creating important points of connections enabling important moments of validation and healing.

That is exactly what i experienced today.  The conversation we had while discussing the book touched  on dangers we all face in the on-line world often exploiting sense of trust and human connection, whether it is to do with romantic or friendly relationships,  debilitating role of emotions often silencing the victims in their experiences creating sense of shame and isolation and how to remain true to oneself when going through difficult experiences.

The book i wrote reflects directly on these concepts describing the stenght i needed to draw on to overcome a very challanging life situation.

Today is about gratitude—for the people in my life who have supported and walked alongside me.

It’s also a moment of reflection. Not long ago, I marked a deeply meaningful milestone: the launch of my book at Queen Victoria Centre in Melbourne CBD. It was a small, intimate gathering—one that quietly celebrated the completion of a significant personal and professional journey.

While attendance was limited, this is only the beginning. I’m committed to creating more opportunities to continue raising awareness and educating others about the growing and often misunderstood phenomenon of scamming, with the hope of preventing others from falling victims to similar experiences.

In my book, I share something I never imagined saying: I never thought I would become a writer. As a child, I loved reading, but life took me in a different direction. I migrated to Australia in my early twenties and found my calling in social work—a profession grounded in empathy, compassion, and deep respect for human experience.

Through this work, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside others in their most vulnerable moments. At times, my role was simply to be present—to listen, to hold space, and to help illuminate even the faintest glimmer of hope in what often felt like overwhelming darkness. And just when I thought I had developed the skills to navigate life—thinking, perhaps, “I’ve seen it all”—life reminded me otherwise.

In 2023, I was scammed.

What began as what seemed like harmless interaction on social media turned into a deeply manipulative and insidious experience that exploited trust and led to devastating consequences. It challenged not only my sense of safety, but also my understanding of vulnerability, control, and coercion.

This story begins with something simple—human connection and trust—but unfolds into a deeper exploration of how these can be distorted.

The launch of my book was more than an event. It was a reclamation of voice. A reminder of the power of connection. A moment of bringing people together in shared understanding—and that, in itself, is profoundly healing. It contributes not only to personal recovery, but to broader awareness.

Today i enjoyed a visit to Brunetti at an acclaimed Italian district on Lygon Street, Melbourne. Sitting and sipping my coffee I enjoy the morning, soaking the sun in a relaxed vibe of this lovely venue.

The place also features in my book as an important part of Melbourne vibrant cultural scene.

The book is wrote " CryptoQueen: You are a Mark" is available now.
The book aims to educate the important issue of online scamming educating the reader about the gentle power of persuation inflicted onto unsuspecting marks, paving a pathway of what to do to stay more viligiant. In this book i utilise my mental health and trauma knowldge to educate but also eleviate the burden this experience can potentially create with all the shame, guilt and embarrassment that comes with it.... breaking away the stigma through story telling,

Every time we put ourselves out there feels like jumping in the big end🫨 a moment of overcoming  fear before we plundge into the coolness of the water coming out on the other side  enriched by the experience of pushing through the initial hesitation
Feeling own authenthic self is not an easy thing. It takes courage to admit to struggles  we have in life being used to the world modelled on " the idea of perfection"
Over the years of my work as a social worker supporting the most vulnerable communities and working in private practise i have learnt that struggles are parts of everyone's life. Yet it is not easy to talk aboout them as it requires vulnerablity, taking off a mask that we put on for protection and to be safe from judgments

The power of here and now, spending time in nature away of businessness of everyday life re- connecting with myself and people i love. This is what gives me energy for the rest of the year helping me pursue my goals and dreams.

This exciting time joining my family and share prescious moments with them as well as products of my creation the book i wrote " CryptoQueen: You are a Mark".

The book is a story providing narrative to an experience of online scamming through telling a real life story.

In my book Exciting Reunion chapter i write:
"I met my mother and sister at the Melbourne airport. Their visit was rare so i planned the time well wanting to enjoy the beautiful summer weather in their companion".

Here we are again, re- uniting again in the different parts of the world. The connection we share is special and carried me through some difficult moments. It also gave me courage to tell this story that feeds into current debate about the dangers posed by online world aiming to raise awareness about how to understand tactics scammers use to lure their victims through coersive narrative of influence.

The book draws on my professional knowledge gained through years of working in the field of mental health and trauma.

Given significant gaps we still have in understanding the phenomena of scamming, especially as viewed from the victims perspective,  i would like the  book to contribute to enriched understanding of the issue.
