Let’s talk about BYPASSING.

The sacred-sounding words we reach forwhen we don’t want to face what’s actually going on.

The “downloads” that echo our fears. The “messages from Spirit” that justify our avoidance.

The moments we call something intuitivewhen it’s really just easier than being honest.

I’ve done it. You’ve done it (come on, it’s ok to admit it!). Wrapped subconscious fear in sacred language.
Called it intuition.
Convinced ourselves that bypassing was clarity.

But here’s the truth:
Bypassing isn’t enlightenment. It’s a nervous system strategy. A brilliant one. A seductive one. But one that keeps you fractured.

Because sovereignty doesn’t come from outsourcing your knowing to oracle decks, astrology, coaches, curanderos, or ceremonies.

It comes from staying with what’s real. Even when it’s uncomfortable. Even when it’s messy. Even when it’s yours.

I wrote a piece about the masks we sometimes inadvertently wear, the patterns we mistake for purpose, and what it means to finally stop abandoning yourself in the name of "Source".

You’re not broken.
Your focus isn’t failing you.
You are HUMAN.

I'm tired of our culture pathologizing natural responses, masking them with medication, and not addressing the root-cause of our behaviors and dis-ease.

This piece explores the idea that scattered attention is a flaw—and reframes it as survival. A trauma-informed take on ADD, fear, overstimulation, and the slow return to safety in our own bodies.

Lately, I’ve been aching for silence.
Not just quiet—but spaciousness.
Not escape—but presence.

I thought I needed the forest.
But what I’ve been remembering is this:
Silence isn’t something we find.
It’s something we cultivate—even inside the noise.

The truest silence I’ve ever known hasn’t been in the absence of sound,
but in the absence of resistance.

It’s a stillness I learned in the Amazon jungle… and in the middle of Manhattan.

It’s what emerges when we stop trying to fix the noise
and start listening to it instead.

I wrote about this—about the ache, the paradox, the practice—on Substack this week.
A reflection on silence as devotion, and a gentle invitation back to yourself.

Let’s name what doesn’t always get said:

Whether you're a therapist, a doctor, a coach, a facilitator,
when you’re always holding space,
people start to see you as the one who never falters.

Steady. Polished. Above it all. Unattainable in your presence.

But that version?
It’s not the whole truth.

Many of us are in our own deep processes —
still unfurling, still becoming, still learning how to be human,
all while being of service to others.

And when we don’t name that,
we create distance.
Not because we’re dishonest—
but because we’ve been conditioned to believe
we have to be perfect to be trustworthy.

We don’t.

Perfection ain't the name of the game. Those days are over.

Being Human is where it's at.

That’s why I write Being Human on Substack.
To tell the truth of my human experience.
To de-pedestalize the process.
To speak from the middle of it — not the end.

If that resonates, I’d love to have you in the conversation.

UNPOPULAR OPINION : A “f**k yes” isn’t always the right yes.

Sometimes it’s your nervous system chasing novelty, relief, or validation. It feels electric — but it isn’t always true. It’s fast. It’s loud. And sometimes, it bypasses the deeper knowing entirely.

But the SOUL'S YES is different.

It doesn’t arrive with fireworks. It hums. It steadies. And it often asks for true courage.

I've got a Substack piece for those who are learning to listen beneath the noise — to the yes that doesn’t always feel good, but always feels true.

For years, I believed love required self-abandonment. That dissonance was normal. That to be loved, I had to endure.

But then the body spoke. Not in words, but in sensation. And the remembering began.

I'll soon be sharing a reflection on pre-verbal memory, relational healing, and reclaiming the story my nervous system never got to write.

Many of you have shared the need for some additional support in your lives.

A space to stay connected to your body and inner work—especially when life feels full.

Not another course. Not more to keep up with. Just a rhythm. A space to connect and reflect.

Anchored Awareness is a quiet circle for integrative support.

It’s a softly held space for somatic practice, inner-reflection, and community.

Each week, you’ll receive a contemplative or somatic prompt inside a private thread. You can engage, share, or simply witness. There’s also a monthly live Zoom circle for deeper integration and connection.

This space is for those walking a path of healing, growth, or psycho-spiritual transformation—and who want a low-effort, meaningful way to stay anchored along the way.

If this feels resonant, you can learn more and join at the link in bio, or at www.templesottoluce.com/anchoredawareness

I hope to connect with you there.

With gratitude,
Evacheska

I live my life in a deep state of consistent (and near-constant) introspection, reflection, and inner exploration and inquiry.

Lately, in this state I’ve been doing a thorough review of what is truly authentic to me - what elicits a full YES from my entire being.

In this exploration, I’ve been learning to listen more deeply. To really lean into the nuanced power of discernment.

Discernment means sometime I need to say NO to things that certain parts of me want to say YES to.

It sometimes means I say YES to things that parts of me are nervous about.

It sometimes means I allow space when I don’t yet know what the right answer is …

It always means trusting what’s meant for me will never pass me by.

And this will likely not come as a surprise to many, but often when I really am seeking answers, I turn to the plants. When I ask the plants, they inevitably lead me back to the place where all the answers are found - within myself.

Sensing a big transition coming in my life. Feeling everything change again, again. I’m not entirely sure what it means, but I trust the direction I’m headed.

Taking the time and space to explore our inner selves, and learn to more deeply understand our landscapes can often be easier when space is held for you by a trained practitioner.

I am always honored to hold the space in which my clients can embark upon that introspection and exploration. Whether it be in ceremonial work, meditative spaces, or counseling and guide work sessions, each I create a container specific to each of my client’s needs.

The more I know, the less I know… and I am loving this feeling.

As I’ve continued to walk my path, learning more and more about myself, I’ve realized how much great mystery there is. I’ve realized I don’t HAVE to know everything - what a relief!

My most recent teacher in this great mystery is the Blue Lotus.

I’m a couple weeks out from my dieta (more info about dieta in the comments) with Blue Lotus and feeling the depths of this great teacher. I’m still finding it quite hard to synthesize what I’ve experienced so far, and I know I’ve only scratched the surface.

This dieta was the most challenging dieta I’ve experienced so far. Lotus stretched me in infinite directions, to what I was sure were my ultimate edges … and then stretched me to edges I didn’t even know existed. I knew about being pushed to the edge, but I was pulled, stretched, contorted, expanded.

Lotus pushed me to extreme discomfort, and taught me to lean into uncertainty, and get wildly comfortable there. I learned to trust in what I don’t know, to breathe into the uncomfortable places, to continue to step one foot in front of the other as I walk my path, even when (especially when) I feel I’m walking in the dark.

By combining traditional therapeutic methodologies with shamanic practices, energy work, and the power of instruments, sounds, and songs designed to facilitate healing, ceremonial containers create a safe space in which each individual can connect with the pieces of themselves that may be needing extra care and attention. Ceremonies can help to open new channels within, and can create new foundations from which we can heal, grow, learn, and expand.

I offer ceremonies for individuals, couples, and small groups, and each experience is uniquely designed specifically for the needs of each participant.
