Choosing between a dietitian and a nutritionist can feel confusing - especially when the terms are often used interchangeably.

In the UK, dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals, trained to provide evidence-based nutrition support for both medical conditions and general health. Nutritionists often focus on supporting healthy eating and lifestyle habits, though training and regulation can vary.

Understanding the difference can help you choose the type of support that’s right for you.

Always tired but don't know why? Our GP explains what your body is actually trying to tell you...

If you’re constantly tired, there’s usually a reason.

Fatigue is the most common concern Dr Jim sees in clinic. Not severe or dramatic symptoms - just people who feel persistently exhausted without a clear explanation.

He explains what ongoing tiredness is often signalling, and the first question he asks every patient who presents with it.

In most cases, it begins with sleep.

Helping people feel more confident in their health often starts with clarity.

For many people, the biggest shift is not just having a plan - it’s finally feeling clearer about their health.

Clearer on what their symptoms may mean.
Clearer on where to focus.
Clearer on the next steps.

Want to eat well but don’t always have time to cook?

When our dietitians work with clients, we know that maintaining healthy eating habits can be challenging if it relies on cooking everything from scratch. Having reliable, convenient options available can make it easier to stay consistent with your nutrition goals.

That’s why we’ve partnered with to offer our clients 25% off their first two orders. Their meals are designed by dietitians and developed around specific health needs, making them a practical option when time is limited.

Your gut doesn’t need more supplements, it needs a better shopping list.

Here’s what a Registered Dietitian puts in their basket each week to support gut diversity, reduce inflammation, and reach 30g+ fibre per day:

• Fermented foods for beneficial bacteria
• Wholegrains to help you hit hit 30g+ fibre
• Polyphenol-rich fruits like fresh berries
• Beans and legumes rich in fibre and protein
• Extra virgin olive oil, nuts and seeds to support the gut barrier

Small, consistent dietary changes build your microbiome diversity over time - supporting better digestion, steadier energy, and better long-term health.

Save this before your next shop.

Acne, eczema, or persistent redness?

In some cases, the skin isn’t the starting point.

Research suggests that gut microbiome imbalance can contribute to inflammation, which may weaken the skin barrier and increase the likelihood of flare-ups.

Skin health is complex. When symptoms persist, it can be helpful to look beyond topical treatments and consider what may be happening internally.

This is why, in clinic, we explore your full symptom picture - digestive changes, stress, diet history, and hormonal patterns - as these systems often overlap.

If you’re experiencing both skin and gut symptoms, working with a MONASH-trained gut health dietitian can provide structured, evidence-based support.

Considering GLP-1 injections?

Many people say afterwards they wish they’d had clearer guidance before starting.

We’ve written an evidence-based UK guide covering:

▫️expected and unexpected side effects
▫️realistic weight-loss outcomes
▫️how to protect muscle and nutrition
▫️and strategies for long-term weight maintenance

This guide exists to fill that gap: translating the research and clinical experience into clear, balanced information people usually learn the hard way.

Today marks Blue Monday, sometimes called “the most depressing day of the year.”

The concept isn’t scientifically proven, but many people do notice a dip in mood, energy, and motivation at this time of year. Reduced daylight can disrupt circadian rhythm and affect serotonin regulation - and alongside colder, darker days, routine changes after the holidays, and fading New Year motivation, it can feel like a real shift.

If today (or any day) feels heavy start gently, here’s one thing that helps:

Rather than trying to reset everything, 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩 you can do today:

▫️A short walk outside (even 10 minutes)
▫️Drinking an extra glass or two of water
▫️Eating at a consistent mealtime
▫️Allowing yourself an extra 30 minutes to unwind before bed

By choosing just one habit, you can build momentum through consistency without overcommitting. And often, that’s what makes next week feel a little easier.

After years of health noise, 2026 is increasingly about clarity.

That’s why the most important health trends aren’t the flashiest ones, but the quieter shifts that improve health over years rather than weeks.

For the first time, the US food pyramid has effectively been turned on its head.

The 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines place greater emphasis on animal protein and full-fat dairy, de-prioritise grains, and explicitly discourage highly processed foods in federal guidance.

The science supports some of the changes:

▫️Limit ultra-processed foods
▫️Prioritise real foods
▫️Ensure adequate, high-quality protein
▫️Reduce added sugars

Some changes are receiving some pushback from several health nutrition experts, particularly on the red meat and full-fat dairy endorsement, questioning long-term cardiometabolic health misalignment.

The real question isn’t simply what the guidelines say, but how we interpret and apply them responsibly in practice.
