This is Video one of my menopause series, so do tune in for the next video about menopause symptoms which is coming soon.

I’m a GP, a BMS registered menopause specialist and the co-author of the book called Women’s Health Made Easy so all of my videos follow their evidence and guidelines.

As always, this is general advice only and you must speak with your own health professional for individual advice.

Do follow and share with anyone you think might like to watch these.

Bleeding on HRT

A good resource to read more and to understand oestrogen and progestogen balancing doses is:

https://www.womens-health-concern.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/33-WHC-FACTSHEET-Management-of-unscheduled-bleeding-on-HRT-AUG2024-D.pdf

As always this video is for educational purposes only and not personal medical advice. Please speak with your Dr. if you have any concerns about your HRT your HRT dose or your bleeding pattern.

Another resource is:

https://thebms.org.uk/publications/bms-guidelines/management-of-unscheduled-bleeding-on-hormone-replacement-therapy-hrt/

There are good guidelines that help us assess your individual case, your risk factors and help us decide if a pelvic ultrasound scan is needed or if an urgent referral to a gynaecologist is necessary, for a procedure called a hysteroscopy to take a little sample of the womb lining.

In clinical practice I find many of my patients have low levels of Vitamin D in the UK when I test them. It is a really important Vitamin D so having healthy amounts in the body is important.

The article states ‘the majority of people’ so not everyone will make vitamin D from their skin while they wear sunscreen, and are exposed to the sun, but most are likely to.

Here is some information to read more:
