Ahhh so many of us are in the middle of BIG life transitions - beginning families, moving to new homes, taking new jobs, finding the next adventure as empty nesters, pursuing new passions, letting go of old friends, saying goodbye to ones we love - our individual lives feel uprooted and unsettled. The world feels like it’s stuck in a space of continual chaos - a general state of overwhelm seeping into the fabric of our days.

And I’m right there with you. I recently moved across the country to Colorado, leaving my home state of South Carolina. It’s been exciting, and thrilling. AND it’s been hard, stressful, and sad to leave the ocean and my family.

This is your reminder that it's OK to have ALL the emotions - the excitement, the fear, the grief, the joy and everything in between as you transverse into new phases and new ways of moving in your life. Having the full range of emotions is part of being human! No judging or shaming yourself for what shows up.

Emotions are meant to be felt, then continue passing through the body and energy system. However, when we encounter an experience that overwhelms us we may not be able to process that emotion in the moment, and instead tuck it away within the energy system. As these unprocessed emotions build in our system, it can settle into the physical body creating dis-ease and pain. Or we may experience a constant replay of these often heavier emotions in our mind and hearts.

Once we begin to become aware that we are holding on to the fear, the shame, the grief, the anger - the next step is to create space and security for the emotion to be seen, processed through the body, and released.

Honoring the emotion allows us to honor the truth of the hurt, the harm, the pain that we have walked through in our lives. Gripping on to the pain and holding it within ourselves is not honoring it, but holding it hostage. The true honoring is allowing the energy to connect back in with the flow of LIFE, and release it to be harmonized with something greater.
