SAVE THIS !

Spinach is one of the most crucial superfoods when it comes to winter foods.
It’s a powerhouse of nutrients and flavor and can be incorporated in a variety of ways in our diet to gain the most out of it.

🥗 It contains FOLATES- the active form of vitamin B9 that is essential for neurotransmitter function and cellular growth. This is important to improve moods and manage winter depression.

🥗 Spinach is high in Insoluble Fiber that can help with digestive concerns. It also manages hunger cravings, regulates blood sugar levels and supports bowel movements preventing constipation that is very common with the onset of greasy/ fat heavy winter meals.

🥗 It also allows you to manage blood pressure, keeping it low and reducing inflammation while aiding in weight loss.

🥗 Spinach is also beneficial as a rich source of anti-oxidants, especially vitamin C and E and antioxidants.

🥗 This become extremely important in the winter months as our immunity is already compromised.
Antioxidants help us improve our immunity and fight infections.

This is how I add Spinach to my food every day. You can do it too!
✅ Add to your morning breakfast omelettes.
✅ Add it to your Sandwich in place of lettuce.
✅ Sautee it with some mushrooms and add it to your crepe stuffing.
✅ Toss it with ghee/ coconut oil with a dash of lemon juice and make it a side dish to your main meals.

We all love or little bite of dark chocolate after dinner or a hot chocolate for those cold winter nights.
They are beneficial in reducing risk of cardiovascular disease, lower cholesterol and being the carrier of incredibly beneficial minerals like Magnesium, Copper and Manganese but all this comes with a pinch of salt(pun intended)
1.A 100 gm(3.5ounce) bar contains over 600 calories with over 30gms of sugar.

2.It contains up to 45 gms of fat/bar.

3.The caffeine content can be as high 86mg which is equal to 1.5cup of your favorite cappuccino.

4.If consumed often alongside regular caffeine can cause anxiety, poor sleep and lead to weight gain.

I STILL HAVE MINE, SO WON’T ASK YOU TO STOP BUT BE MINDFUL !

A square or 2 (20gms) couple of times a week right after lunch instead of your afternoon coffee is more manageable for the body at many levels.
This way,
1.You avoid the instant sugar release that can lead to an insulin spike disrupting hormone balance.
2. The caffeine would be accommodated better by the system without compounding to the inflammation and eventual weight gain
3.The sleep cycle would stay in place.
4. There are fewer chances of poor sleep leading to stress, anxiety and added health concerns.

👉 We are often assertive on our needs and rights being different from men, then why not acknowledge the same when it comes to our health?
The male human body is designed to be CATABOLIC in nature. There is constant breakdown of nutrient and tissues to support the process of Spermatogenesis.

👉 Spermatogenesis is the process of s***m production that happens when FSH Is released. Semen consists of carbohydrates, free form amino acids, certain enzymes, prostaglandins and minerals like potassium and zinc.

👉 Women on the other hand are ANABOLIC Body types. This is because we require the nourishment and nutrients to build the corpus luteum in anticipation of a pregnancy that sheds in our menstrual cycle if no fertilization occurs. This way the need for fats, Vitamin D, E and iron rich foods is higher to support this biological process.
👉 These are fundamental processes of our existence that we tend to pass on. These are one of the few reasons why nutritive requirements are different
For men and women.

So how do we manage this difference in our busy lives and batch meal prepping?

✨Know your individual nutritional needs
✨Focus on the getting your most important minerals unique to your needs. The other can be consumed through common meal choices.
✨ Prep Ingredients instead of the entire meals. This allows for more flexibility and meeting your unique needs becomes easy.
✨ Focus on sustaining instead of panicking. You may not get everything everyday but if you can manage it over a few days or even through out the week like getting enough fat, vitamin D or even squeezing in exercise, the long term goal is to do it regularly rather than focus on the smaller details.
