👉 The main causes of gallstone formation include:
1. Diet and Lifestyle: A Western diet high in refined carbohydrates, saturated fats, and low in fiber can contribute to gallstone formation. Obesity and rapid weight loss are also significant risk factors.
2. Hormonal Factors: High estrogen levels, such as those during pregnancy or from hormone replacement therapy, can increase the risk of gallstones.
3. Gut Health: Intestinal permeability (leaky gut) and gut microbiome imbalances can impair bile secretion and contribute to gallbladder disease.
4. Metabolic Issues: Conditions like diabetes and metabolic syndrome are linked to altered cholesterol metabolism, increasing gallstone

🤔 We all know of the gallbladder but do you know what the gallbladder does?

The gallbladder plays a crucial role in the digestive system by storing and concentrating bile, a digestive fluid produced by the liver.

Bile aids in the digestion and absorption of fats by breaking down large fat globules into smaller droplets, making them easier for digestive enzymes to process.

When fatty foods are consumed, the gallbladder releases concentrated bile into the small intestine to facilitate fat digestion.

Yes you can live without a gallbladder but it’s really not recommended, if you can avoid it.

When removed, bile flows directly from the liver to the intestine. This means it is not concentrated and this has impacts on the digestive system...

🛑 Sorry folks, you cannot put junk in your body, take a handful of supplements and expect your bodily systems to flourish.

Scientifically backed supplements are to be taken to enhance your diet, not replace it.

Some examples include:
👉 Magnesium - our soil is largely depleted of magnesium and most people are deficient.

🎣 Omega 3 - unless you eat fish such as wild caught salmon, sardines, mackerel, anchovies, etc. at least 4 times a week you need to take a good quality Omega 3 with a 2:1 EPA to DHA supplement. Many people do not like fish enough to get this solely from food.

👉 Vitamin C - the body doesn’t make vitamin C. You must get this from food sources or take a supplement. If you aren’t eating citrus fruits, cruciferous vegetables and leafy greens every day then you will need a supplement.

Beware though, there is a lot of really crappy products on the market. Be sure you do your research and trust the source.

🍔 Processed foods may taste great, but they can have a big impact on your gut health! 🚫🦠 High in sugars, unhealthy fats, and additives, they can disrupt the balance of your gut bacteria, leading to digestive issues and inflammation. 🌿

But hey, don’t stress! Everything in moderation is key. 👍 Enjoying your favorite treats occasionally won’t derail your gut health journey—as long as you focus on nourishing your microbiome most of the time with whole, unprocessed foods. 🥦🥑

Balance is what counts! ⚖️

💪 After a tough workout, your body needs to repair and rebuild muscle tissues, and your gut plays a vital role in this process! 🌱 A healthy gut ensures proper nutrient absorption, which is key to speeding up recovery. Here’s how:

🍽 Protein Synthesis: A gut imbalance can limit amino acid absorption, slowing down recovery and increasing soreness.

🔥 Inflammation: An unhealthy gut can worsen inflammation, making post-exercise soreness last longer.

💧 Hydration & Electrolytes: Your gut regulates hydration and electrolytes, essential for muscle function and recovery.

⚡️ Energy Levels: A thriving gut microbiome helps convert food into energy, while a disrupted gut can leave you fatigued and slow recovery.

Take care of your gut, and it will take care of your muscles! 🌿
