Proud Achievement: A first-year MBBS student from KUSMS, Prashiddha Mahat, has identified an error in the 11th edition of Textbook of Biochemistry for Medical Students regarding hemopexin levels during hemolysis and brought it to the attention of author Dr. D. M. Vasudevan. The author acknowledged the error and confirmed it will be corrected in the next edition. 😮

On August 15, 2026, the Leo Club of KUSMS organized a Free Mega Health Camp in Bhimeshwar Municipality–07, Dolakha, in coordination with Bhimeshwar Municipality Ward No. 7.

A total of 516 people benefited from the camp and received healthcare services in General Medicine, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dental Care, Dermatology, Physiotherapy, and Ultrasonography (USG).

Free medicines were also distributed to patients.

The health camp was supported by Dhulikhel Hospital Dolakha, the Department of Dermatology at Dhulikhel Hospital, and Lakehead Education

On the occasion of the 32nd International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, celebrated worldwide on 9 August, the Nepal Adivasi Janajati Aayog organized a special program under the 2026 theme:
“Honoring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Wellbeing.”

We are immensely proud to share that Prof. Dr. Kunta Pun was honoured for her outstanding contribution to midwifery education in Nepal and for being the first specialized midwife registered with the Nepal Nursing Council.

The honour was presented by the President of Nepal, Rt. Hon. Ram Chandra Paudel.

This recognition is a wonderful testament to Dr. Kunta’s dedication, leadership, and invaluable contribution to advancing midwifery education and maternal and newborn health in Nepal.
