I may get some hate for this, but it needs to be said:
Making comments to someone about their physical appearance- (due to weight loss/gain) or how/what they are eating day to day may seem harmless,
But it very well may not be.
There’s no saying how someone has lost or gained the weight was in a healthy manner-
And if you are making positive comments, they may think that what they are doing is “the right way/only way to achieve the goal” (restricting, skipping meals, binging, over eating, extreme work outs, etc.)
It could very well be for health reasons as well
The comments stick around, trust me
No one knows what is happening behind closed doors, and unfortunately, disordered eating habits/eating disorders are way too common today.
Many people are afraid of judgement or don’t know how to ask for help.
So I challenge you: instead of commenting on someone’s physical appearance, comment on something else- maybe their smile, energy, persona, anything! Let’s normalize this 👍🏼 (or if that’s too hard, just don’t say anything at all)
Now take me back to Puerto Rico
