I may get some hate for this, but it needs to be said:
Making comments to someone about their physical appearance- (due to weight loss/gain) or how/what they are eating day to day may seem harmless,
But it very well may not be.
There’s no saying how someone has lost or gained the weight was in a healthy manner-
And if you are making positive comments, they may think that what they are doing is “the right way/only way to achieve the goal” (restricting, skipping meals, binging, over eating, extreme work outs, etc.)
It could very well be for health reasons as well
The comments stick around, trust me
No one knows what is happening behind closed doors, and unfortunately, disordered eating habits/eating disorders are way too common today.
Many people are afraid of judgement or don’t know how to ask for help.
So I challenge you: instead of commenting on someone’s physical appearance, comment on something else- maybe their smile, energy, persona, anything! Let’s normalize this 👍🏼 (or if that’s too hard, just don’t say anything at all)
Now take me back to Puerto Rico

This is your sign to do it-
To FINALLY put yourself first
You will never be fully ready
And there will never be “the perfect time”
You just have to believe and do it
The key is to never give up- no matter what-
Those challenging times matter most
You will have the best of days and you will have sh*tty days-
You will win, you will fail-
But you will learn from those moments and improve the next time
Soon enough you’ll be saying, “remember when I couldn’t do (x,y,z)… now I can…”
You owe it to yourself
(And I’m here to help)

Wishing for time to slow down
I am always go, go, go and never “have time” to do x,y,z
(School, work, internships, prep, etc.)
But here I am, like every year, wondering how are we already getting close to ending another year?
I feel like each time I blink, time passes
Focusing on slowing down, being patient, finding gratitude, and enjoying the moments
because making memories, including eating foods that make the soul happy, are more important than achieving an unsustainable look (outside of the bodybuilding world)
People will remember you because of the memories you made-
Not for how you looked or the foods you ate
You don’t have to give up on your goals, but remember it is okay to enjoy life, too

I’ve been struggling…
And it’s not easy to admit
Post-show blues are real
I always say reversing after a show is SO much harder than prepping
It’s a mental battle going from basically restricting certain foods and doing lots of cardio for 6+ months for a set goal vs. the ability to eat more with a goal to gain weight and build muscle
I was handling the reverse well until stress and overwhelm increased and one day I lost control and it spiraled-
At least 1-2 days/week I overate on food- whether with meals or constant snacking:
Nuts, trail mix, granola, (peanut butter filled) pretzels, chips, cookies
-have you ever consumed too many nuts at once before or too many sugary things? 🤢
I woke up many mornings still sick to my stomach with no appetite and ashamed from the previous day
On my “good” days I was pushing meals off too long and guess what usually happened…
My anxiety was heightened, my mental health was not phenomenal and I HATED that feeling because I knew exactly what I had to do, but just couldn’t stick to it
I didn’t want to admit to anyone about this
I thought I was weak, a failure; I didn’t know what people would think or say about me
I reached out to my coach and told her what was going on and created a game plan (hence daily affirmations in the morning)
And ever since talking to her about this and becoming more open to others
I have felt a huge weight off of my shoulders 🥹
While finding my groove again and actually listening to and nourishing my body- my mental health has improved so much 🙌🏼
I plan on sharing this side of my story
I hope those who may (or may not be) struggling with their relationship with food can find a safe place and support here
There is much more to share
My [virtual] door is always open 🫶🏼

Never forget how far you’ve come-
It’s easy to forget what we have had to go through to get where we are today
And sometimes we forget how much strength we have gained and the lessons learned
So next time you tell yourself “I can’t”
Stop and rephrase it to “yes I can”
-I’m serious.
If you can believe it, you can achieve it

Competing and cravings
Some advice during prep or post-show:
Do not buy everything you are craving
It is so easy to give into temptations-
You haven’t been able to have certain foods or treats for “x” amount of time
So it’s easy to buy what you want for post-show; especially if we are mindlessly scrolling or grocery shopping (looks, smell, taste, etc)
This is where we tend to set ourselves up for trouble
Personally, reversing vs. prepping for a show is SO much harder
Yes, you can allow yourself to have what you want- in moderation, but remember:
Your body has been in a stressful state for a good amount of time (months) and is not used to the increase in caloric intake and variety of foods-
Don’t put even more stress on the body!
Don’t buy or consume everything you are craving at once-
Allow your body to adjust-
Allow your body to rest and recover-
Fuel it with water and nutritious foods first before the sugar and treats
*trust me*

Ever feel “in a funk”?
That feeling when we create things in our minds that we want to do,
what we want to be,
but might not have the resources for
Nothing seems right
I am here to remind you (us)
-This feeling will not last forever
-This doesn’t mean things can’t change
Sometimes having a monotonous routine can cause these feelings
Give this a try:
-change up your work environment
-create small daily goals
-change up the flavor of your coffee
-try a new recipe or meal
-try something new/out of your comfort zone
Life has something wonderful planned for you
Just pay attention, it might take you by surprise
You are not alone- message me or click the link in my bio if you want to chat more

It’s a damn good day for a good day!
It’s Monday-
First Monday of a new month
Off to a bad start? It’s not too late to turn it around!
Deep breaths
Stay positive
Do something that makes you smile (this shirt makes me smile)
Maybe even do something nice for someone today! They might need it too
You got this👊🏼

You can’t wish for it
There is 5 years of hard work and dedication between these pictures
Have I been perfect the whole time? Absolutely not
What have I learned?
If you want something, you have to go after it-
You can’t half ass it and expect to see the results you want
You can’t blame your coach for a bad workout or the macros aren’t working
They are providing you with the tools you need
At the end of the day-
You are the one choosing what food you eat
You are the one in charge of the intent behind your workouts
Take responsibility of your decisions and actions
You get out what you put into yourself
You want results? Be consistent, put in the work, and hold yourself accountable
Or don’t, and continue to question what you’re doing wrong.
I dare you to be consistent for more than 2 weeks
