Pets are an important part of many peoples lives providing them support and comfort

Often when I see a client struggling with severe depression, the only thing they smile about is when they are talking about their pets

Pets are helpful in maintaining physical activity and keeping a daily schedule

They also aid with emotional support and regulation

Some people have their pets designated as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and take them out into the world for emotional comfort

Show your pets some extra love and attention today and celebrate all the many benefits you receive from them!

Let's talk about bipolar disorder

It's not just mood swings—it's a complex mental health condition that affects millions worldwide

Living with bipolar disorder means navigating highs and lows, managing symptoms, and seeking support

But it also means resilience, strength, and finding light in the darkest moments

Let's break the stigma, foster understanding, and support each other on this journey!

World Bipolar Day (WBD) is celebrated annually on March 30th, the birthday of Vincent Van Gogh, who was posthumously diagnosed with bipolar disorder

The day is a global awareness initiative that aims to eliminate social stigma and improve sensitivity about bipolar disorder

WBD highlights the importance of research and advocates for improved access to mental health services

WBD also encourages self-care practices, resilience-building strategies, and community involvement

Did you know that National Sleep Awareness Week has a rich history dating back to the early 1970s? Originally established by the National Sleep Foundation, this annual event aims to raise awareness about the importance of healthy sleep habits and the impact of sleep on overall well-being.

Since its inception, National Sleep Awareness Week has evolved into a global movement, with organizations, healthcare professionals, and individuals around the world coming together to promote better sleep practices and advocate for improved sleep health.

As we celebrate National Sleep Awareness Week this year, let's take a moment to reflect on the journey that has brought us here and commit to prioritizing quality sleep for a happier, healthier tomorrow. Sweet dreams, everyone! 💤

You are not alone in dreading adapting to the time change

But how is it that changing the time by one hour makes you feel so awful?

Sleep deprivation or disruption can impair the efficiency of many detox and restorative processes that happen when you rest

This detoxification process supports both brain and body health by flushing out and rebalancing your body’s systems

Sleep is one of many ways our bodies heal naturally. Making sure your sleep routine is consistent actively supports your overall health

Saying you had a good night's sleep is the new ultimate flex. Treat sleep like you treat a prescription or supplement and watch how you transform!

How were you affected by the spring-forward time change? Let’s talk about it in the comments

🌍 Happy International Women's Day! 🌍

Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women worldwide and renew our commitment to gender equality. March 8th marks a day of honoring women's social, economic, cultural, and political contributions.

Did you know? The origins of International Women's Day trace back to women in Russia striking for "Bread and Peace" on March 8th, 1917, leading to significant political changes.

This tradition was further championed by Clara Zetkin, and in 1911, the first International Women's Day saw over 1 million participants across Europe.

Why purple? It symbolizes justice and dignity, along with green for hope and white for purity.

As we celebrate, let's also embrace the power of sisterhood, confidence, and self-love. Together, let's uplift and support one another, fostering a community where every woman feels valued, empowered, and confident in her worth.

Let's take a moment to honor the collective spirit of women everywhere and reaffirm our commitment to gender parity. Happy International Women's Day! 🎉

self-sabotage
SUCKS!!!

self-sabotage happens when...

you're aware of what you need to do to but instead you avoid taking actions that could help you grow
or
you don't fully commit to the things that might move you forward towards improvement because of fear of failure or sense of overwhelm

self sabotage can be a product of many things like
•low self-esteem
•internalized beliefs
•fear of change or the unknown
•an excessive need for control

-but underneath those reasons is the human drive for self-preservation

self-sabotaging behaviors often lead to...
•stagnancy in growth
•poor outcomes
•damaged relationships

but learning more awareness about self-sabotage & adding some conscious effort into rewiring those thoughts, it's possible to end the cycle of self-sabotage

How to prevent self-sabotaging behaviors:
•treat your struggle with compassion
•notice unhelpful thought patterns
•redirect & redesign the thought pattern
•dismiss the negative thought pattern as falsehoods

self-sabotage
is not only detrimental to achieving the level of success or the results we want, but it can also harm our mental health, causing a lower self-concept, which in turn makes it less likely that you'll behave in ways to achieve desired outcomes

things to remember when overcoming self-sabotage:

•be patient with yourself-
self improvement takes time, you'll notice small changes in the first few days, but it may a few weeks in to really get changes

•start small & build-
working on things for short periods & breaking up tasks into chunks help

•treat yourself as a friend-
practice compassion as you work through the components of your self-sabotage behaviors

my clients learn how to challenge & conquer self-sabotaging behaviors and so can you!

WHYYYY is walking away so hard for a people pleaser???

People pleasers try harder to be loved even when treated badly

Most people pleasers were once parent pleasers

They usually grew up having to be parents' therapist, cheerleader, or always on edge trying to adjust to any change in their mood

When a child learns they should be easy, quiet, or perfect in order for someone to love them they are conditioned to unbalanced relationships where they're constantly giving while they're needs go unmet

where they learn to give and give and give but do not receive

This becomes normalized so that as we get older, our impulse when someone treats us badly or gives us emotional breadcrumbs is to try even harder to be loved

So many people pleasers shame themselves

They might feel angry at themselves for staying with people who don't commit to them or shameful that they've accepted the bare minimum in their relationships

The truth is, people pleasing is a survival adaptation

When you're people pleasing, you're actually just trying to keep yourself safe

The clinical name for this is **FAWNING**

when we fawn, both our brain & nervous system only focuses on appeasing the situation because people pleasers don't want to re-open their core abandonment wound

To stop people pleasing, we have to do something that many people don't think about...

we have to grieve how we never fully got the love, approval, & validation we needed growing up

once a people pleaser grieves their inner child wounds they can accept & become aware of how often they try to be loved, no matter how they're treated

they slowly develop the confidence and self-worth to walk away when someone reveals red flags & show who they truly are

You can heal from being a people pleaser. My clients learn how to tackle their inner child issues and move forward with their lives. See the liNk in biO for more info on how to get a free discovery session
