Combining the daily Ayurvedic practice of tongue cleaning and oil pulling provides immense benefits to your overall health by removing toxins from your body and promoting oral health.

1. Practice each morning on an empty stomach by putting a tablespoon of oil (I love the pulling oil shown, which is a combo of sesame, sunflower and coconut oil along with peppermint essential oil - it leaves my mouth feeling super fresh - but you can use plain 100% organic sesame or coconut oil too).
2. Ideally swish and pull the oil around your mouth and through your teeth for 20 minutes...you can work up to this time as you become comfortable with the process. I do this while showering or taking care of other morning tasks.
3. Spit out the oil in the trash or toilet - not in the sink to avoid drain clogging!
4. Rinse your mouth with warm water.
5. Scrape your tongue with a tongue scraper and then brush your teeth.

I’ve been doing this ritual every morning for over a year and notice whiter teeth, pinker gums and tongue, and increased energy.

It’s a great detoxifying practice with so many benefits to help balance your daily life.

An added benefit is that my breath doesn’t bother me a bit while wearing my mask too!

Hello beautiful people! It’s been a while. Like many, the past year threw me off my intended path and put a lot of my plans on pause. I took the time to reflect and learn more about myself, Ayurveda, and our shared human experience. I’m feeling a renewed energy and commitment to continue on the path I set out on almost a year ago. I hope you’ll join me as I explore the wonders of Ayurveda with you all.

The five elements of the universe work together to form the physical body, creating unique individuals and defining our dosha.

Ether – space
Air – movement
Fire – energy
Water – force of connection
Earth – solidity

When the elements are out of balance, we will start to develop warning signs to call attention to the disturbance. Left unattended, the imbalance can lead to disease. Ayurveda helps you maintain balance to lead a healthy life.

Ayurveda is personal to me. A few years ago I was at a point in my life where I was unhappy and under a lot of stress and it was showing up in my body in very physically and emotionally harmful ways. I knew I needed to take drastic measures to become well in my mind, body and soul once and for all. As I was getting lost in the internet wormhole one night, I happened upon Ayurveda. The science of life. It resonated with me on a deep level, and so my journey to wellness began.

I have since traveled to India, the birthplace of Ayurveda, twice. Once to a month long retreat to receive the holy grail of Ayurveda cleanses – panchakarma. The second time I went for three months to study Ayurveda, and receive another panchakarma. My goal is use my personal and professional knowledge to help others bring wellness into their life experience too.

How has Ayurveda helped you?

We are all doing our best to stay healthy under the current circumstances, so I wanted to introduce you to Chyawanprash, an Ayurvedic tonic.

Chyawanprash has been consumed in India for over 5,000 years for protection from viral, bacterial and fungal infections and is known for offering massive amounts of health benefits to boost immunity and vitaliy, protect the body’s natural defenses, improve digestion, assist with mood and calm the mind, rejuvenate and restore, and support elimination of toxins.

Chyawanprash has a jam-like consistency and starts with a base of Amla fruit, which offers the world’s richest source of Vitamin C, and supports the respiratory system, blood, liver and spleen. Then a powerful blend of herbs and spices, including Ashwsgandha, Brahmi, Pippili, Shatavari, Guduchi and many more are added, each offering their own individual health benefits.

Chyawanprash balances all three doshas; vata, pitta and kapha, and is an ideal item to have in your wellness arsenal.

I first learned about this wonderful tonic during my time in India and brought some home with me. I have also enjoyed Chyawanprash that I purchased from and - but you can find many different offerings online.

Wishing you all an abundance of health and love as we navigate this time of uncertainty in our lives.
