Mid-Year Reflection:

As we reach the halfway mark of the year, it’s time to take stock of the journey so far. While Q1 may have presented challenges, Q2 saw me return with newfound determination and vigor!

Sometimes, it feels like I’m running in place, but I refuse to be stagnant. I’ve never felt more energized. My clothes fit better, I’ve rediscovered the joy of playing sports, and I’m fearlessly exploring new physical activities.

Exciting opportunities await as I prepare to move to Utah, where I eagerly anticipate embracing hiking, skiing, and other outdoor adventures. The thrill of these upcoming experiences fuels my enthusiasm for what lies ahead.

Thank you all for your unwavering support, accountability, and motivation throughout this transformative journey. I can’t wait to share more updates with you as I continue to grow and challenge myself. Here’s to embracing every moment and making the rest of the year even more remarkable!

If you are like me and gain most of your weight in the abdominal area like me read this one.

Abdominal obesity, often referred to as central obesity, poses significant health risks beyond aesthetic concerns. Accumulating excess fat around the abdomen increases the likelihood of developing various health conditions, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and certain types of cancer. This type of obesity also affects lifestyle in multiple ways. It can impair mobility and lead to joint problems, making physical activity more challenging and reducing overall quality of life. Moreover, abdominal obesity often correlates with poor dietary habits, exacerbating the risk of chronic diseases. Psychologically, it can impact self-esteem and mental well-being, contributing to depression and anxiety. Addressing abdominal obesity requires a holistic approach, incorporating dietary changes, regular exercise, and stress management techniques. By prioritizing a healthy lifestyle, individuals can mitigate the harmful effects of abdominal obesity and improve their overall health and well-being.

When you are young, you may not fully recognize the effects of obesity because your youth masks it.

Obesity can lead to a range of physiological effects, including increased risk of cardiovascular diseases like hypertension and coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, joint problems due to increased load on weight-bearing joints, sleep apnea, respiratory issues, such as asthma and breathlessness, and an increased risk of certain cancers, among others. Additionally, obesity can impact hormone regulation and metabolism, leading to further complications.

this is all in addition to the decrease in quality of life and ability to do many things you may love or want to do requiring strength and endurance.
