Couldn’t be strong enough.

Couldn’t be good enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Couldn’t be smart enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Couldn’t be pretty enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Couldn’t be thin enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Couldn’t be successful enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Couldn’t be deserving enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Couldn’t make it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know at one point you have also been told these things by someone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But you have a choice.. will you be any of those things?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
OR....
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You KNOW YOUR WORTH.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can be successful.
But YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IT.

You are deserving.

You are great.

You’ve made it this far, so you are strong enough.

Everything will be ok.

The downs are there to fully appreciate the ups in life.

Everything perfect.
People pleasing.
Taking care of everyone else.
Chasing.
Giving more than we need.
Constantly showing up all the time.
Always grinding.
Never resting.
Burnt out.
Protecting at all costs.
Always searching for the next best thing.
Never satisfied.
Jump from one thing to the other.
Try to be a certain way.
Or the should be done by now or here by now…

There’s one thing to go after your desires…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s another to start not just now but understand that “YOUR GRIND” is actually killing who you are.

This constant pressure and neglect of who you are, like really are, is what’s holding you back.

In every area of your life.

Your body.
Your health.
Your eating habits.
Your thoughts.
Your actions.
Your behaviors.
Your essence.
Your happiness.
Your relationships.
Your money situation.
Your strength.
Your beauty.
Your pleasure.
Your energy levels.
You’re ability to move.
Your love towards yourself.
Your confidence.

ITS ALL CONNECTED.

As a woman we get the opportunity to do things yes. Because to some level, yeah we need to. You get to be both.. but we get stuck in the hustle.

But not to the point that you lose every part of who you are.

You’re not designed that way… you’ve been taught to be that way.

It’s why you’re all or nothing thinking.. your self sabotage is killing you.. your constantly dieting and grinding is killing you.

Because you’re looking to all the wrong places to make you feel like you..

You’re meant to feel. To be loved. To be seen.

You are beauty and chaos. A forced to be reckoned with.

If you don’t feel like yourself right now read this….

I haven’t felt like myself in the last few weeks..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been fighting an internal battle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A spiritual war both in my mind and my heart.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And my first response isn’t always dealing with it right away… is to push through and just do the things…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Which has taken me to where I am right now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Until I stopped.
I slowed down.
And acknowledged what was going on. I had to step into the darkness. God was calling me there.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I broke. It’s why I haven’t been as active on social media.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I needed to honor what was happening.
How I feel. The darkness. The light. The good. The bad.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because I didn’t feel like myself. But that’s ok. And here’s what I discovered.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you don’t feel like yourself, it’s probably because you’re not that person anymore.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes when you fall apart and go and put yourself back together again, you’ll find you’re missing pieces.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Parts of you have been lost along the way.
BUT it’s important you don’t go searching for them again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to backtrack in order to feel whole again or to find freedom/peace.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s an opportunity to grow.
Your chance to bloom into the person you’ve always wanted to be, who you’ve always been.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You may have lost parts of yourself along the way. IT’S OK.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But know you will never be incomplete or broken, even if it may feel like that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are enough.
You are worthy.
You can do, be and have all you desire.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But you also have to deal with the internal stuff too. Be real with yourself. Stop numbing and covering it up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Keep going. Remember you’re meant to change. You got this. It’s not around but through that will guide you.

I broke down yesterday…
You know the break down you could see coming from a mile away…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yep.. me.
I couldn’t handle it anymore.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I erupted. Like a freaking volcano 🌋
I couldn’t hold it all together anymore.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have a tendency to do this… the thing is before I never knew why. I never knew how to actually deal with it and move in it or even through it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I used to never let anyone know how things really were, like ever. And numb it all.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I used to be that meme of the dog sitting in a room with a table and chair with the room on fire saying, “I’m fine. Seriously I’m fine.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And often times when we don’t deal with what’s not only going on in our heads but in our heart we will crash and burn.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can only push through for so long.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of those tools that brings me back is gratitude, and not on just one day every year. To get what’s on my chest out, even if it’s messy and jumbled. To bring clarity and peace to what is. Feel it and let it flow.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because something I always have to remind myself in the overwhelm and the overthinking: step back, breathe, remember that I am safe and it will only last for so long.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Does sometimes it makes me feel crazy.. yep. But it’s ok to not be ok, remember that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even during this time of “crazy,”
I am thankful.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thankful for my physical health and my ability to keep moving and working from home.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thankful for some extra time to spend with family and my husband.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thankful for the chance to get some much needed projects done around the house.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thankful for all of my awesome followers and friends that continue to leave positive comments and interactions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is never a great time for chaos in the world, but I am thankful that there is a silver lining amongst all of the crazy, always.

I have a question for you…

Have you ever struggled with a sense of anxiety from lack of control?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well… I know I have.. and still very much do.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Luckily I’m blessed to have the right tools to guide me through these things now…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, when things were really bad or when I didn’t even know that’s what was happening to me… I tore myself apart.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both literally and figuratively..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I battled it for years.. and in many ways very unhealthy measures might I add..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A majority of times when I was dealing with a sense of anxiety or even feeling out of control I had no idea how to regulate it or calm it down…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So the next best thing I did… I numbed it..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In more ways than one…
I had no idea how to regulate it when it arose let alone was never really taught how to express or deal with my emotions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And this led to self sabotaging behaviors for many years..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Many of which I’m not proud of.. I drank.. I picked at myself (literally, and often not even knowing I was doing so), smoked, under ate/ overate, binged purged, over exercised, slept around… you name it..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But it took me awhile to recognize that it wasn’t the those things that was the issue…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was my sense and or lack of control of how to actually process what I was feeling.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It started to show me that I can feel things and be ok and not have to use things to cope… that the world was not going to come crashing down on me.. that I will make it through what was going on…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Healing is tough. But anxiety and fear do not have to control you unless you let it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

STOP TELLING YOURSELF YOU CANT ACHIEVE THE BODY YOU WANT.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Back when I struggled with my ED + later when I had with Lyme disease 💚, I used to tell myself I just couldn’t do it, it’s too hard.
Though that was an excuse.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because in reality, 😥I felt no one understood at all.. I felt:
💔alone
💔afraid
💔confused
💔lost
💔ashamed
💔disappointed in who I was
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I finally made the decision to stop the negative thoughts. I invested in myself. I wanted + needed help🤕🤒
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I just wanted to curl up, hide.. + at one point yess I didn’t want to live.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I couldn’t act like something I was not. For it will never lead you to what you want
to become.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I finally realized that a shortcut + quick fix wasn’t the going to happen both when I had my ED + when I had Lyme.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You see, In life there’s only ever 2 things that drive you to take action. An internal motivation or an external force.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I stuck to a plan, remained patient, focused, + took each day at a time. Giving it what I had that day, even if it wasn’t a 100%.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s kind of hard to say, I never truly loved who I was back then, any part of me. But I threw out all I knew.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Results + my health started pouring in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wasn’t necessarily working out or eating right that saved me, though they helped.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started to work internally and heal from the inside out.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From this journey I continued working out + made a business around helping women do the thing to get the thing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Transforming their bodies so they feel...
🌙Strong and confident af in a bikini.
💎 Attractive as ever to their significant other.
🌙Free in their relationship with food and their body.
💎Happy and joyful in where they are going + have a plan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Are YOU SELF-SABOTAGING YOURSELF OVER THE HOLIDAYS?

Thanksgiving will be here next week. Which means food, drinks, sweets and indulgences that come around once a year...

We’re EAGER to have our favorites and for the rest of the year we will have these temptations surrounding us.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Food is SO important culturally in our world... It means memories, bonding and all the merry things.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Along with this merry time of treats galore.. there typically comes a lot of STRESS and STRUGGLING when it comes to navigating things in term of balance, health, reaching your goals, and not “dissapointing yourself this year”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I used to handle this time of year in two ways⤵️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ I wouldn’t participate in ANY social events or have any “fun foods”.. Which was sad and I wont get those times/opportunities back.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ I would workout like CRAZY and be an extremist with “clean eating”.. Then on the holiday I’d eat ALL the yummy foods without even identifying if what I was putting down the hatch was worth it.

Mindset Shifts To Keep You on Track

Have you fallen off the wagon? Don’t know how to get back on? Telling yourself it’s too late to gain control so it won’t matter if you take care of yourself or not...🤦🏼‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The holidays are here🍁🦃🌲🎅🏼.. and I know it’s that time of year that can so easily get distorted into holiday parties✨🥂🥳, potlucks🍱, and extra 🍨🍪/drinks🥃🍷/appetizers🥨🧆 etc. where everything is surrounded by food and we put ourselves on the back burner.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know. I know. It’s can be daunting. I used to beat myself up for it and head into the downward spiral of negativity🙋🏼‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I want you to know though that you can stay on track. One heavy meal😵, one night of eating and drinking like crap 🥴won’t mess everything up, and missing one or 2 workouts 😖won’t derail you. No matter how big your “mistake”, you can always get back on track.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So here are some ways we can shift how we think about holiday eating and lack of exercise in the process:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌punish yourself with extra cardio to make up for excess calories consumed/ lack of exercise
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ perform your normal routine, add some cardio in if you’d like but remember consistency is 🔑
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ drink detox skinny teas 🍵 or severely restrict your calories 😵
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ go back to eating regularly (lean protein, veggies/fruits, lots of water, fiber and healthy fats)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ engage in negative self-talk and dwell on situation
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ forgive yourself and be kind to yourself, then MOVE ON
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ say f*ck it, lose motivation and drive to want to get back on track
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ realize you’re human, you will mess up. But as long as you get back on track, every little thing is going to be alright🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Try not to dwell on it. Be present and focus 🤩 on how you’ll go forward. Besides, holidays are for being with loved ones and enjoying each other’s company.

VULNERABLE ALERT 🚨 I have spent the better half of my life not trusting people. For many good reasons. I had been bullied, abandoned, cheated on, left, victimized, verbally and emotionally abused.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It didn’t matter who I spent time with friends, family, business coworkers, etc, I always had in the back of my mind, “ Are you messing with me?”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop... ALWAYS.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My fear was so intense that that my ego would fiercely fight people when they would try to get close to me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In retrospect, it’s sad to think about because I exerted so much energy in this place of being perpetually guarded.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And the amount of healing I was desiring to go through was a huge mountain but what moved the needle for me in flowering my ability to trust is the following:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌻 I had to learn to trust myself
🌻 I had to learn that not everyone is a psycho or out to get me
🌻 I had to learn to walk with fear because I can handle anything
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now you’re going to ask... how the heck do you do that.... well it’s a process and I am not done yet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But here are some things that I’ve learned and am learning:
1️⃣Stop abandoning yourself: chronically breaking promises to yourself will also not let you trust others
⚡️ Honor your word in your own life
2️⃣ Do more work on accepting yourself fully
⚡️Write our a list of top 5 things you dislike about yourself then underneath write out self love replacements for that negative belief and speak it everyday
3️⃣ Be more trustworthy: defenses often end up creating the exact thing you feared
⚡️By being more open and vulnerable with others you will begin to believe that others are more trustable too
4️⃣ Be willing you stay put
⚡️Stretch out your timeline and allow yourself to make plans for the future
5️⃣ Learn to trust by trusting others
⚡️The dancer can only be caught in the air if she trust her partner enough to jump
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be fully you. Deploy the courage you need to. Your ability to trust people and yourself will come with time.

There was a time in my life when I was the woman..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
… who couldn’t even see the confidence and strength I held within me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was the woman that couldn’t go 3 days without bingeing at times.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was the woman that every time she looked in the mirror tore herself apart. And was disgusted with who I was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But now when I look back and compare that version from 10 years ago to who I am now..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They’re so far apart from one another.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That they would be completely unrecognizable to one another.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How did it happen?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I showed up.
I choose different. I thought + felt different
I found grit, compassion, I found purpose.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remember having to hold it all together. Aiming to be so strong.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wore my heart on my sleeve only to get burned. Told I was too much..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Time and time again. Destroying myself more and more.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, I never gave up. I had to break free.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I didn’t listen to that little voice in my head, “You’re not good enough…”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It took every minute of every day to push past that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And it all started with 1 minute, then 5 minutes, then 10, then 20, then 30, then an hour, then 5 hours, then 1 day, to a week, a month, to a few months to a year..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All of those times make it all up into your life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
YOU CAN CHANGE.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you don’t like where you are right now..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You have the power and the capacity to build and create a life you’re proud of.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can change your life with being consistent, creating discipline, and showing yourself love and moderation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
EVERY DAMN DAY.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It may feel hard to do a few minutes to start.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But if you can do just that. It will add up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can win everyday.
It’s possible… for literally anyone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Especially YOU.

When your mindset changes, there’s no going back.

You’ll have new priorities.
A new mission.
A new sense of self.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What you though you liked doing in the past won’t be fun to you or won’t serve you anymore.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ll slowly start to distance yourself from the old you to become who you were meant to be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Someone who’s ambitious, has thicker skin, and someone who loves deeply.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You reflect on everything you had to survive so far and be amazed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are so resilient and strong, even a go getter. And also realize you don’t have to hold it all together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’re a different breed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Give yourself a high five.

Smile for yourself. For how far you’ve come.

God has brought you to right here.

Because I look back at old me, smiling at how far I’ve come.

I could never have imagined my life where it is. To do what I love and be who I desire to be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I get to do so with my best friend.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Grateful… doesn’t even do it justice. I’m blessed beyond measure for all that I have.
