The Lovers VI

We can find unlimited ways to identify with and oracle-ize the Tarot. In class we are deep into the second line where focus is on the esoteric symbolism of each major. The goal is to plant many seeds of understanding. When a card is pulled we see what has sprouted in our mind and can then superimpose our new understanding to events that are present in our lives and see more clearly where we are in relation to our spiritual path. This is beautifully adaptive to each individual while simultaneously perfect for the collective.
The Tarot does all of this for us.
This week we are guided by the Lovers VI, one of a few challenging cards to relate with. Or one of many?
Although it is romanticized, the Lovers can bring us to a much deeper and thorough place when we allow it.

When we draw the Lovers we are faced with a choice that first may stem from subconscious perception/patterning, but then offers us this chance to draw a more realistic conclusion from the discerning part of our mind. Usually this choice is concerned with how we place something or someone on a pedestal while subconsciously positioning ourselves to something lower because we don’t have the thing that we desire. A crucial step towards wholeness is being placed in this position over and over again until we can delicately start to redirect this desire, respect, and love back to ourselves. We begin to understand that what we see in others is what we see within ourselves. Easier said than done. When we draw the Lovers we need to be able to look within ourselves with honesty but without judgment, two things when brought together we might find challenging.

Take note: There have been many deep Venusian aspects in the last year. Recently and/or presently are experiencing Venus in Scorpio, Venus conjunct South Node, Venus Square Pluto, Venus Opposing Jupiter. If you have experienced themes around greater understanding of love to self and others you are not alone. We can call on the wisdom of The Lovers to bolster our wings through these gusts of Venus.

And also, not only is this the darkest phase of our moon but it is the darkest phase of the year, 11 days to Winter Solstice. We can feel the vibration of this very special moment and the next few days when our year is asking us to Complete, to Finish, to Clear anything left undone before the new year begins.

The Death Card XIII

Collective pull today yields the Death card. This is the perfect time to understand why the Death card highlights growth. To go forward we first go before…the Death Card is beautifully arranged after the Hanged One which holds the message of assuming the position of birth but not the action of birth, so stasis and static position/ non-dynamic. We could liken the Hanged One to the Rune of Ice or Isa, the ice before the melt or the breath before the push. So why is the card who is In Utero/The Hanged One before the Death card? The Death card portends growth through Motion and through this understanding we can see manifestation through change. Change by manifestation.

It is our challenge and job spiritually to dream new earth into being. Sometimes to do this we have to let go of ___. Maybe our fear, our disgust, our over identification of being perfect, a certain way of being. Our sensitivities to everything. Our projections on others and ourselves. This creates space that must be filled with our positive knowing of Earth’s future. We manifest by Knowing that we can live peacefully, we can live lightly on the Earth and in harmonia with Her. Peace, Peace, Peace.

Card of the Month August

The Hanged One XII
V Cups
Strength VIII

Wow great cards for coming into Leo season. Strength is this beautiful Initiation medicine card. It is the first of the second line of the Tarot. We can imagine this to be our guide through the second line as we turn into the chrysalis formation. Scientists still don’t exactly know what happens inside of a cocoon but we know there is magick happening even if it’s a little gooey at some points. Trust the goo. Eventually it will reform into what we need the most. We need strength in order to allow the deconstruction of the V of Cups. Sometimes this can be a super vulnerable time. If we are used to knowing what’s going on, mostly allowing our mind to run the boat, this might be tough for you. The ways in which we operated in the past might not necessarily work now. These are the moments when Spirit is calling you to get quiet, go within, meditate, stay home, get quiet. Did I mention get quiet? We can remain positive while grieving. To grieve is not to give into negativity. To grieve is to allow the feelings to move through us like water. And water is the medicine of birth and rebirth. Assume the position.

Lammas is the harvest celebration and nothing says celebrate like III of Cups! This is the sweetness to the astringency of the monthly cards. There is this last push to move us through The Chariot, to be unafraid of change and realize that growth is gonna happen whether you want it to or not. So, you can either jump or allow life to do it for you. In my experience the former is more fun. Either way. Part of Soul Tarot is understanding that “trauma informed” is just a reframing of formerly shaming and blaming yourself and others in all aspects of life. VI of Swords does just that. It tells me we are recentering ourselves after something major and whatever it was, it was not our fault so don’t waste energy with blame. We make choices and sometimes we can choose things that are not the most comfortable. That’s ok too.
