The Black Women’s Fertility Support Group group are now sharing their voices and choosing a name for the podcast. 🎧

The podcast will showcase the fertility stories of black people, highlighting the diverse demographic of people using fertility treatments that are often not told. 💪🏾

So far the group have shared great feedback as to what the poddy should be called.

Time to set those New Year’s Resolutions! 🧚🏾‍♂️ 2024 is teaching me a very very practical yet vital lesson: when the skies decide to throw a surprise splash bash, pick your shoes like you pick your battles.

Just like navigating the IVF journey, comfort is essential! It’s about preparing for the unexpected and taking care of yourself through it all.

So here’s to keeping our spirits high and our feet dry, come rain or shine. May our choices be comfy, our steps be sure, and our future bright.

Wishing everyone warm toes and hearts in the year ahead. Let’s tackle the forecasts and fertility journey, one step at a time! ☔️👟

The No. 1 mistake I made on my IVF journey 👆🏽- Was not appreciating that fertility treatment is as challenging emotionally as it is physically.

Last year, I might have been a little too tough on myself. But I’ve realised that self-criticism only makes our burdens heavier. This year, I’m embracing a new approach: self-compassion.

In 2024, let’s remember that it’s okay to have tough days. Let’s remind ourselves of the extraordinary path we’re on and be mindful of each step. To all my fellow IVF warriors: let’s be the champions of our own stories. Here’s to a year of kindness, strength, and a fresh mindset.

We’re in this together, cheering each other on every step of the way to parenthood. 🚦👏

What is the toughest part of IVF?

The toughest part of IVF can vary from person to person!

Every member of the TTC community’s experience is unique.

However, some common challenges include the physical and emotional toll of the treatments.

The financial strain and the uncertainty of the outcome.

It's important to communicate openly with those around you and fertility clinic. Don’t be afraid of using the fertility counsellor’s services, if needed.

Keep in mind you always have the support of the TTC community online! All you have to do is shout ###

Medication, Drugs, Stims, Meds - Let's talk all things the cost of getting your body ready for IVF treatment, using the power of medication!! The fees of IVF medication are around £600 – £2250. The price ranges are massive as the cost depends on the type of treatment you are having. The long protocol requires medication to be administered for longer periods of time compared to the short protocol.

Fees for IVF medication can vary hugely from clinic to clinic, supermarket pharmacy to high street pharmacy.

It’s worth it and super cost-saving to politely request your prescription from the clinic and shop around – however, always way up the pros and cons depending on the urgency of the medication.

You definitely don’t want to get caught short without enough meds for your treatment – especially if you need the meds urgently!
