This was captured by Cherry on one of her recent play sessions . I know that Cherry’s smile was equally wide🤩.
Being a successful play partner means sharing in presence, time and attunement - embracing moments just like this and being embraced in a moment together.
It’s called PLAY for a reason 🥰 x

Not every disability is constant.
For some children with complex needs, vision, hearing, communication, and understanding can change from day to day.
Our job is to meet each person where they are today or in a single moment .
Each day is a new day and it’s only by listening , observing and understanding with gentle patience and respect that we can then begin to offer PLAY that is appropriate for each session.

Yesterday I attended the family festival and apart from having a lovely time exploring the stalls and picnic with my family I had the pleasure of chatting and sharing thoughts with this lovely man named Arsenal .
He was diagnosed with autism at the age of 49!
He has released a book that tells an honest and emotional true story of his life’s journey pre and post diagnosis.
Of course I brought the book and am looking forward to reading it - we are all here to support each other and embrace our differences and similarities!! But most of all to celebrate being the unique personalities we are meant to be . Congratulations Arsenal - a pleasure to meet you 💖👍

I’ve had a great weekend Thankyou so much for all the awesome messages and playful vibes ! 🥰
I’m ending the weekend pics with this gorgeous young lady who happens to be my birthday twin !! ( with a lot of years difference in between 😂!)
Happy May 31st - may we all continue to have the strength and energy to dance to our own beat - and most of all “give the gift of time to one another”.

It’s my birthday weekend and today whilst sat in a very pretty hotel garden - Brian ( my other half !) was commenting how relaxing and peaceful it was .
I of course on the flip side … only saw it as an opportunity to PLAY !! 😂😂😂 I must be exasperating to live with but after 43 years he expects no less than utter chaos !!!! As you were Brian ……. 🤦‍♀️👍😂

That feeling when someone you used to work with pops in on a session and the play just wraps around us all !! Seeing someone just instantly step back into the world of play because she knows the effect that it has not only for the client but the team around us all reminds me why we keep doing what we do ! Thankyou Shelly Judd - you put smiles into my Thursday 😍😍😍
