✨When you start giving yourself permission to eat, it can be confusing at first to choose.

✨You’ve been relying on being told what to eat by external sources- a diet plan, weight watchers, a personal trainer, the made up food rules that you’ve picked up over the years

✨Coming back to trust with your own internal cues takes time. But it does come back

✨In the interim, choosing something is better than not eating.
Use it as information gathering, notice how your body responds and feels after/during what you choose.

🙏🏻You can then use the info you gather over time to inform your choices, as you’ll slowly learn to know what works for you, in terms of enjoyment, nourishment and satisfaction 🙏🏻✨

There is sooooo much that awaits you, my love 🖤

🚨Fear of gaining weight is normal. We live in a world where we’re told it’s one of the worst things we can do.
That we should be always striving to not allow our bodies to expand.

✨But if you’re always chasing weight loss, imagine what you’re missing!

✨If you’re always trying the latest diet, to burn more calories, to count your macros, to restrict things you enjoy, you don’t have time or energy to truly ENJOY life!

This can be super hard and scary for people who have been so used to dieting or having guilt around food for so long.

❌But I’ll just eat pizza and ice cream all the time!

❌I’ll put on sooo much weight!

🚨At first it may feel strange, and you’re likely to eat more than what you have previously, because you’ve been restricting- this is a normal biological response!

🙏🏻The first thing I work on with a client, is slowing down. Living more mindfully. Creating space to notice patterns, beliefs, behaviours.

✨This is ESSENTIAL for starting to heal, because without being aware of what you believe about yourself, you’re often oblivious to how those beliefs show up in your actions, in relationships, in all areas of life.

I’ve spoke about this over and over again now- but emotional eating isn’t always bad!

✨We are humans, that exist in an emotional world, we are literally built to feel and process emotions.

✨Our emotions are linked to everything we do- this includes food.

✨Food is a beautiful way of connecting with others, feeling joy, pleasure, creativity, soothing and lots of other things.

🖤So if you emotionally eat sometimes to help you cope with a bad day, or to celebrate something, or to make life a bit more interesting- guess what?! YOU’RE HUMAN AND THATS TOTALLY OKAY!

❌It becomes a problem when it’s your only way to cope with, feel or process emotions.

❌ Do you spend the day obsessively thinking about when you’ll next eat?

❌Or trying not to think about eating what you think you “shouldn’t” eat?

❌Do you often feel like you’ve “been good” all day but then it all goes to s**t at night and you gobble down way more than feels good, left feeling stuffed and annoyed with yourself?

💀That was me!!! I did this SOOO often- I’d start the day off how I wanted to continue it- restricting and “being good”

💀Then the evening would come, I’d be hungry, unsatisfied and my biological hunger would take over.

💀I’d smash through 3/4 crisp butties, eat whatever carbs stuff I could get my hands in and then feel sick and furious with myself

❌The next day, the cycle would start again! Urgghh it was exhausting, and compulsive and awful.

✨Fast forward a few years and now I literally eat what feels/tastes good for me, and then move on with the day.

🙏🏻FREEEEEEDOMMMM!
✨LIBERATIONNNNNN!
🖤ENJOYMENTTTTTT!

🖤Emotional eating is something I’ve talked about a LOT- and I think something that most of us beat ourselves up for, even if we’re not dieters.

✨ I have done a reel about this and have shared stories about it, but essentially the core essence of it is the above ⬆️

✨If you feel like you’re eating emotionally- ask yourself, do I have other ways of coping with/feeling/processing my emotions?

If the answer is yes then, you’re human. Eating doesn’t exist in a void. You’re doing great 🙏🏻
