Safety is always a concern when exercising, but most people stray away from the deadlift specifically because it is known to “cause” injury to the low back.

Deadlifting often gets the blame for causing back pain and low back injuries, but this also comes with a lack of understanding of the movement.

When setting up properly, for your given height, limb length, Q-angle, and pre-existing conditions, deadlifts can strengthen the low back and hip complex to a point never dreamed of.
