Yup. I did the unthinkable for a gluten and dairy sensitive person. I ate the things 😱

It’s the holidays and it was my cousin’s wedding. Needless to say, I let my hair down, and ate some cake 🍰

Did I know how I’d feel today? Nope, nothing in life is guaranteed. Did I have a pretty good idea of how I’d feel? Yup, I know my body and am in tune with its capabilities 💪🏼

So how did I feel today? Great! None of the wrist pain or tummy upset I’ve known myself to have. And here’s my secrets to how I avoided all that.

#1 I took a gluten enzyme. I do not do this on the regular as an excuse to eat gluten, but I try to keep them on me just in case I’m accidentally exposed or for the very occasional treat.

#2 I only had a little! I make sure not to overindulge when I eat one of my sensitivities. By enjoying a treat in moderation I can have my cake and eat it too.

#3 I’ve healed my gut to a point of resiliency. This is the most important point. If we haven’t healed, no amount of enzyme supplementation or degree of moderation will prevent symptoms.

Bonus tip: fear no food! When we eat food with fear we shut down our digestive tracts. The body doesn’t want to waste energy on digestion when it perceives a threat! It’s busy mobilizing for fight or flight. When we eat with love, even a food sensitivity, we significantly improve our digestive function.

Please note that I am not celiac, but rather gluten sensitive. If you suspect celiac disease it’s best to get tested!

Stayed tuned for the 48 hour update, as food sensitivity reactions can take that long to rear their heads!

If you are tired of gut issues and am seeking support in developing your gut resiliency, comment below or send me a message!

I am SO excited to be sharing this with you all. The first release of The Alchemy of Play: Healing and Transforming Through Sacred Play.

This workshop is the sum of my entire life’s journey. As a child I was a total goofball. I loved dress up and imagination games. As a teen, I lost my way. Life got confusing, challenging, serious, and riddled with anxiety. But I’ll never forget the moment I saw a way out. Some spark in me spontaneously lit and I decided to be silly. My anxiety vanished for those few moments.

Through the years of my healing I had to call up a lot of courage, trial and error, and sheer determination, with it all shrouded by the fear that was my anxiety, to finally find my to strength. And through it all, I was always able to find joy when I was playing. My prison was the fear that held me back from my fullest expression of my weird, goofy self. Breaking out of that, not giving a F*CK about what someone might think of my self expression, has been the most liberating gift I could’ve given myself.

This is how I came to one of my core philosophies: Sacred Play. I realized that we don’t have to take life so seriously. That we choose roles to play out in this life, and so we can choose how we want to show up. When hardship happens, we can find the light in it and laugh. Yes, the harder the hardship, the more we get to laugh at how ridiculous it is. We laugh at the absurdity on sitcoms, why can we laugh at the absurdity of our own lives?? And the truth is, when we laugh at ourselves, we laugh with the divine. When we refuse to laugh, well, the joke is on us.

I would be absolutely delighted to share all of this with you at The Alchemy of Play. This is part one! There, we’ll reconnect with play, and get to know it as a tool for transmutation. By befriending this intentional play, you’ll have it ready to be called upon in the most difficult of times.

Plus, be led through potent breath work by my dear friend as a way of releasing blockages and incorporating sacred play into your life.

(Keep an eye out for part two, where we bring in the duality of the shadow and the light)

I just got back from Guatemala. It was an incredible adventure full of beautiful landscapes, cave exploring by candlelight, waterfalls, Mayan ruins, volcanoes, and witnessing a vibrant and colorful culture.

But it was also HOT in a couple destinations, the bus rides were LONG, packed with people, and our very first bus broke down! My Spanish is adequate at best, and one destination was decorated with more dog 💩 than any other place I’ve been with wild dogs.

Was I out of my comfort zone? Yes. Was it an experience I’m beyond grateful for having? 1000% YES!

I absolutely LOVE culture shock. It reminds us that our “normal” is nothing more than a set of cultural constructs. That there are SO many perspectives, paradigms, and different ways of living this life.

When we leave our comfort zone we have two choices. 1) we can close down, throw up armor, and reject what’s in front of us. 2) we can open our minds, open our hearts, learn something new and grow.

Can you guess which I choose? 😉

One of the absolute most difficult things on this trip was hiking volcano Acatenango at 13041 ft. Most of the hike is straight up, with 5308 ft elevation gain in 4.5 miles. I knew it’d be intense. I consider myself physically strong, but my endurance and lung capacity are in need of a boost 😮‍💨 And HOLY guacamole was it a challenge for me.

Yes at times I felt like I was dying. But never once did I consider quitting. When I needed a break I took one. I gave myself pep talks and allowed myself to curse that hike when I needed an emotional release. But when we got to basecamp I couldn’t be more grateful. Partly for being done for the day 😂 but more so because I was watching an active volcano, Fuego, going off next to us. When we hiked to the summit at sunrise, the pastel painted clouds over the neighboring volcanoes were spectacular.

When I got down the volcano I was exhausted and sore, but so damn proud of seeing what I’m capable of.

Comfort zones are there for a sense of safety, and they are vitally important in the healing process. BUT if you never push out of them you never see your full potential, and that’s a gift to yourself you don’t want to miss out on 🫶🏼

Let's be honest, the world feels upside down right now. We've been experiencing collective strife for the past few years and many of us are starting to feel worn down, myself included. 🙋🏻‍♀️This is why mindfulness has become an important practice for me.

Mindfulness work has been at the core of my empowerment journey because it allows me to slow down and reconnect with my breath & body. By developing a mindfulness practice, you will strengthen your ability to be in the present moment, which will help you to hone your skill of 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 - this is the practice of mindfulness as you navigate potentially triggering moments of your day.

Through the practice of 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, we are intentionally taking time out of our day to practice being mindful - this is what will help us to be more mindful during moments where we are triggered or otherwise not at peace.

By practicing active mindfulness, you can bring this skill with you as you face your struggles. The essential thing to note here is that oftentimes the struggles don’t stop, no matter what we do, but instead, their impact upon us gets less and less unnerving.

Our struggles are our greatest teachers and sometimes Spirit decides we need more lessons than we like. We find peace and flow when the way we relate to these struggles is with less fighting tooth and nail, and more acceptance, all through mindfulness.

And when you are brought out of the present, it’ll be that much easier to come back to it - and I would love to help you develop that practice! 🤍

Each one of us has masculine & feminine energies within us: balancing these two seemingly opposing energies are the yin & the yang of empowerment. ☯️

The masculine energy we hold helps us in our ability to problem-solve, protect ourselves and our loved ones, take action when moving towards our desire, and stand up for what we believe in.

The feminine energy we hold surfaces when we give comfort and nurturing to ourselves & others, feel empathy for others experiencing hardship, do the deep spiritual healing emotional work, or are guided by our intuition.

When you’re analyzing your conditioning, finding your True North, or planning the next step along your path, you’re calling upon the Divine Masculine within you. When you’re deep in mindfulness meditation or intentionally moving your emotions through you, you’re calling upon the Divine Feminine that rests within your soul.

We need to see the importance of both, and understand that one is not superior to the other, but rather two vines interweaved to support one another climbing towards the light. We can’t be successful on the Empowered Path without both.

This is why being equally in touch with your feminine side as well as your masculine side is important as you progress along your empowerment journey. ✨

Want to learn more about how to balance your Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine? 👉🏼 Head to the link in my bio to sign up for my upcoming workshop "From Armored Warrior to Love Warriess!" where we dive deeper into the practices of balancing your energies.

Conditioning & Internal Programming 🧠

As human Beings, we are incredible & complex - so much so that we function in strikingly similar ways to computers. In a sense, we are the most advanced computers known to humankind (if you want to look at it that way). 🤖

Just like a computer is programmed to work in a particular way, our minds are programmed so that we engage with our environment in a particular way. This is called conditioning, which is a never-ending process from the moment we are born. For example, if when you were little you got a lollipop to stop you from crying every time you got hurt, you were being conditioned to associate candy with comfort.

As we grow older, we have more and more experiences that condition us to behave in a certain way as we interact in society. This conditioning ultimately creates our internal programming, which is the root of our core beliefs, values, and perspectives on the world.

This is why being aware of how you are being conditioned & choosing whether or not to participate is key in building an internal program that aligns with your higher self.

The Compass 🧭

This tool was birthed from looking back at the experiences that shaped me into the more whole, more empowered woman I am today. The experiences that allowed me to realize I was in survival mode where in my heart of hearts knew that I wanted to be thriving.

When I first realized how lost I was, this tool was my guiding light. When I was younger, I was anxious, depressed, & felt really alone - I KNEW that this wasn't the life I wanted to live.

I had the deep burning desire to rise out of that dark hole and become the bright light I was meant to be. ❤️‍🔥

But I didn’t just want to grow, I DECIDED that I would. There was no hollow yearning, no desiring while staying in the darkness. I KNEW there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I could not see the light, but I knew I would get to it one way or another.

This is how I found my True North. It was this realization that I had the power to change my life that led me to actually take action toward making that happen. And I want that for you too, my warriess.

The four p's and how they lead you to empowerment 👇🏼

When I decided to be a guide for empowerment, I looked back at my own journey and reverse-engineered how I got to where I am today. Although I didn't have the framework in this earlier leg of my empowerment journey, I realized that I have been using these four concepts for quite some time.

〰 Paradigm: This is your set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the communities you are a part of.

〰 Perspective: The lens through which you view the world is shaped by your experiences & therefore has an effect on the perspective you have on your life.

〰 Persistence: Persistence occurs when it would seem like all else is at odds with the goal, and yet determination is what keeps you going. With persistence, you are pushing through external blocks of the circumstances around you.

〰 Perseverance: This is the calm, steady, and grounded focus you need to reach your goal. With perseverance, you push through your own internal blocks.

Your paradigm, perspective, persistence, & perseverance will be the core pillars in which you lean on throughout your empowerment journey. They each serve a different role, but when put into action together - you can truly make miracles happen.

And by miracles, I mean embodying the most empowered version of your higher self. 💚

The Warrior & Warriess 🏹

There are many archetypes, and we all fall into any number of them at different points in our lives. Some of the more well-known archetypes include the mother, the lover, the healer, the wise crone, & the shadow self. But today, I want to talk about the warrior.

The warrior is a masculine archetype. Despite that, many women embody this archetype, for the masculine & feminine live in all of us. I wouldn't be surprised if you embody the inner warrior within you - let me know in the comments. 💚

The warrior is characterized by the armor it comes with & the stream of battles it fights. This armor is made up of all the defenses accumulated from years of hurt, disappointment, & pain. It was a blessing when she first put it on because it created an energetic separation from an unsafe situation or experience.

Safety is EVERYTHING. Physical, emotional, & energetic. When our safety is compromised, wounds open up, scars often form, and for our inner warrior, the armor goes on. But, despite all the protection the warrior gains from her armor, she also sacrifices much.

Deep authentic connection is blocked by the fear of being hurt by others, the richness of life experiences is dulled by numbed emotions, & she loses touch with her higher self by acting from fear rather than from love.

But the warriess is different. She has traded her armor for healthy boundaries, which allow her to flow in relation to each unique situation. She loves with all her heart, knowing that she can use any pain as an opportunity to grow & she trusts her intuition, standing strong in her decisions.

But most importantly, she is resilient. She is compassionate. She is both gentle and fierce. She is empowered.

It's your birthright to embody your inner warriess - and I know you can do it. 💚 Head to the link in my bio to learn more about my upcoming workshop: From Armored Warrior to Love Warriess!

I have learned many lessons throughout my life but some of the simplest and most impactful lessons I’ve learnt when it comes to empowerment came from life experience during all my orbits around the sun.

Lesson # 1: Growth is hard, but not as hard as staying in a state that doesn’t serve us
Lesson # 2: Know your worth or you’ll always give yourself less
Lesson # 3: Borrow strength from others, you may not recognize your worth now, but I bet someone in your life does
Lesson # 4: Pace yourself, it’s OK to take breaks and prioritize your selfcare
Lesson # 5: Play your heart out to keep the joy in your life

What’s one lesson you have learned that has served you well as you seek to live a more abundant life?
