when you honor relationship over profit, as a doula…

There is nothing more that I want , than to be able to show up for everybody I love, including my clients. Being a doula, is more than breathing techniques and affirmations. It is an emotional, spiritual, and physical labor. It is the extension, of my personhood. So naturally, it will go through the ebbs and flows of life with me.

I fall short very often. But I never stop trying. And I try my best to be as open and transparent.

Being able to show up for my mamas is something I take great pride in ( I don’t always meet the mark, but grace) But also I appreciate being invited into their lives and family, it feels good to included on purpose!

My good sis got baptized on Sunday , and I LOVE seeing her be free and in love with the things that feeds her spirit!!! Thank you O, showing up for you, gave me the opportunity to not only celebrate with you, but also receive something for me that my spirit needed🫶🏾

Also , if you give me a baby ( or a big human) they going to sleep lol!

Anyway, I love you! I thank you! I celebrate you 🫶🏾

if you asked me what love was, I’d say them.

I definitely am beyond grateful that my journey as a doula has given me the gift of sisters like them!

On my journey as a doula I wanted to create a space for black mamas to just be. Then one of my mamas, made it clear that she needed it, and so I no longer could procrastinate. Thank you CAMMY 🫶🏾💕. Thus Black Mama Meets was created. And while Black Mamas Meets has stood for two years and some change, it’s because of these ladies and their commitment to showing up in this sisterhood , that it still exists. The patience, accountability, kindness, and visibility here is beyond magical. I truly just believe it was the natural evolution of love, and trust. The ability and desire to be vulnerable, and make space for other women to do the same! Just make a family , ya know 🥰 There’s ajust a vibe and flow to it that just …. works!! I’m sure they’d have trouble describing the power of it, as well. But we just get together and are like the rawest and most fluid versions of ourselves. It’s actually pretty sweet🥺

They’ve continuously covered and loved on me. While accepting my current self with tenderness and joy. I think we all do that for each other, and I am so proud, but my God am I grateful!

Thank you for sharing your selves and your families
Y’all are the the glass of wine to my long day of being in the world
And the warm hug after the longest cry

I decided to do it … even if it wasn’t perfect

I know I’ve been gone for an awhile and honestly I needed the time. I am still working on a lot, however I’ve also been working on this

“I Deserve” Digital Affirmation and Activity journal ! All prompts and designs have been made by me, over the last year and a half. As I learn more about my journey and purpose , I’m also learning what I want Mpenzi Tundae to stand for! As much as I love being a birth worker and community doula , I know my journey is meant to touch people in all walks of life ! As I found myself struggling through depression, anxiety, heartache, fear, instability and more , I knew I needed more than what I could humanly muster up. I was so lost in my thoughts and many days I could mutter a word or prayer. So I created what I needed.

If you haven’t notice , Mpenzi Tundae has become Mpenzi Tundae Holistic Care… my goal is to aid others on their human growth journey! Starting with this journal ( and some other things on the site 🤭🫣)

I hope this journal finds its way to those who needed it , just like me 🫶🏾✨
