We accomplished one of our goals in 2023- raising awareness of ALS, BUT we didn’t break the record AND we’re not quitters!
So…will you please join us again next summer as a TEAM LEADER?

We have approval from the Fairgrounds and the DNR to run the event on

Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Event registration for participants will be sent at a later date.

If we break down the distance into teams with team leaders, we can better track how we’re doing on distance as we lead up to the event. And use healthy competition amongst the teams to drive team growth.

Are you willing to be a Team Leader? If so, please sign up here: please sign up here: https://forms.gle/7Y5wKjfatim35bF59

Team Leader responsibilities:

- Recruit team members that will show up on July 20 with a big floatie.

- Name your team. Bring a team sign to the event.

- Track the distance your team has accumulated and provide weekly reports as the event nears.

- Be a liaison between Erin and your team and help the event run smoothly on July 20th.

- Motivate and inspire your team to grow and celebrate on that day (coordinated costumes, signs, whatever you can dream up).

The current record is still 1000 meters which is 3281 feet.

If we want to break the record and set a new one at 1100 meters, that’s 3608 feet!

If the average float is 3 feet, then we need 1202 people with 3 ft floats or less people with bigger floats. The bigger the float, the better!

If you’re willing to be a Team Leader fulfilling the responsibilities listed above, please sign up here: https://forms.gle/7Y5wKjfatim35bF59 and start recruiting your team.

The registration for participants will be sent out later.

I’m continuing to work on onsite entertainment during the event (with speakers).

Please send any suggestions for entertainment and how to make the event bigger and better.

Thank you!

Erin, Anje, and Family

This form is to sign-up as a TEAM LEAD. Participant registration will be done separately on a different form at a later date.

I was planning to pay the invoice for the portable toilets delivered to our ALS Guinness event. They’d already given us a discount, but when I opened the invoice, it said PAID. Thank you, Tenney & Sons Inc! Call them for your sewage & portable toilet needs!

A few years ago during the pandemic when we all didn’t know what to believe, when we were terrified of what the hell was going on but still trying to simply go on, I discovered a Rodney Norman video. It lifted my spirits and calmed my mind. Rodney is a comedian, but first as all great comedians are, he is a philosopher. He asks, “What does it mean to live?” and he challenges his audiences to answer that with his thought-provoking humor.
Rodney and his wife Theressa Norman hit the road during the pandemic leading comedy shows across the country staying with people they met along the way. I reached out and offered them a stay in Warsaw, Indiana where we filmed a yoga segment. They came back a few months later for a show. And we met up again in Sedona, AZ for a stay at our Desert Birch Sedona Home for Rent.
It is with gratitude that I’m happy to announce they are coming back to Warsaw, Indiana and Rodney & Theressa will be floating with us in the Breaking a Guinness World Record Event on Winona Lake & Anje’s ALS Fundraiser! He’ll also be performing stand-up at Floating for ALS | the night of 9/9. Tickets for the evening show are only $20 and include music by David Evans and two local comedians, Amanda Sautter and Brodie Long. The morning Guinness attempt on 9/9 is free. You can donate to my Aunt Anje’s medical expense GoFundMe if you’d like. https://gofund.me/1ff80671
Thank you to the the Normads! Can’t wait to see you this weekend and laugh our butts off!
