We accomplished one of our goals in 2023- raising awareness of ALS, BUT we didn’t break the record AND we’re not quitters!
So…will you please join us again next summer as a TEAM LEADER?
We have approval from the Fairgrounds and the DNR to run the event on
Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Event registration for participants will be sent at a later date.
If we break down the distance into teams with team leaders, we can better track how we’re doing on distance as we lead up to the event. And use healthy competition amongst the teams to drive team growth.
Are you willing to be a Team Leader? If so, please sign up here: please sign up here: https://forms.gle/7Y5wKjfatim35bF59
Team Leader responsibilities:
- Recruit team members that will show up on July 20 with a big floatie.
- Name your team. Bring a team sign to the event.
- Track the distance your team has accumulated and provide weekly reports as the event nears.
- Be a liaison between Erin and your team and help the event run smoothly on July 20th.
- Motivate and inspire your team to grow and celebrate on that day (coordinated costumes, signs, whatever you can dream up).
The current record is still 1000 meters which is 3281 feet.
If we want to break the record and set a new one at 1100 meters, that’s 3608 feet!
If the average float is 3 feet, then we need 1202 people with 3 ft floats or less people with bigger floats. The bigger the float, the better!
If you’re willing to be a Team Leader fulfilling the responsibilities listed above, please sign up here: https://forms.gle/7Y5wKjfatim35bF59 and start recruiting your team.
The registration for participants will be sent out later.
I’m continuing to work on onsite entertainment during the event (with speakers).
Please send any suggestions for entertainment and how to make the event bigger and better.
Thank you!
Erin, Anje, and Family
