Please don’t judge me on my terrible food photography skills 😬📸 This super easy TERIYAKI SALMON recipe is a great source of omega 3, antioxidant green leafies and complex carbs. Takes no time to make and is a family favourite!
for the sauce
• 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
• 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
• 3 tablespoons soy sauce/tamari/coconut amines
• 1 tablespoon white vinegar
• 1 tablespoon sesame oil
• 1/3 of a cup lightly packed brown rapadura or coconut sugar
• 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
• 2 teaspoons of freshly grated ginger
place all ingredients in a bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved
Place the salmon fillets in the marinade cover and allow to sit for 20 minutes at room temperature or in the fridge
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper
Once the 20 minutes is up, transfer the salmon to the baking tray, reserving the marinade. Bake the salmon at 180° for 12-16 minutes depending on thickness and how you like your salmon cooked
Meanwhile steam some greens, I like chopped bok choy and Broccolini, and make some brown rice or quinoa
Put the marinade in a small saucepan, bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer until the sauce has slightly thickened into a glaze
To serve, place a piece of the salmon on a plate with a serve of rice/quinoa and greens, brush the salmon with the glaze and sprinkle with sesame seeds
