Another year has gone by! Let’s reflect together and look forward to the year ahead Mindfully.

I will be conducting a session titled Welcoming 2022 with Self-Reflection hosted by Elda Health on Thursday from 11 AM to 12 PM (IST). Please find the details of the workshop below.

Register here: https://lu.ma/coh3r3gu

In the Welcoming 2022 with Self-Reflection Workshop, we will go through what it means to Observe Mindfully and Reflect Compassionately. This workshop will help peel the layers of the events that shaped your life in the year gone by. We will lay out an extremely effective way to move from an emotional contemplation to an observational self-reflection. The steps will be intellectual and experiential in nature as we delve into the more profound understanding of the mind and the self. Whether it’s our habits, our emotions, or our relationships, this workshop is for anyone who wishes to uncover deeper aspects of their life to live a more fulfilling life.

A recent theory dubbed "Silver Lining Theory" by researchers at NYU states that some 90% of people believe that their negative traits are actually strengths in disguise—and it’s that very belief that makes them work harder at developing that positive attribute.

So how do you find positivity when negativity strikes? The trick is to look past the situation and to acknowledge how it can still bring forth some rewards and opportunities.

Mindfulness Meditation helps with responding to situations rather than reacting to them. While a one-way ticket to Gloomsville sounds nice, it isn't a tenable solution.

Know how you can incorporate mindfulness in your daily life by booking a one-on-one session with me.

How do you start a meditation practice;

This has been the most asked question. Before I started my practice that’s what I asked the same question.

There were many requirements but most of them were in my mind.

I need a quiet place, serene environment, clear mind and a lot of time.

The reality is we are busy in our lives doing our dharana, fulfilling our responsibilities and in the need for perfection we procrastinate. The perfect moment is now to start meditating.

The benefit of meditation are immense - reduced stress, happier body and mind, reduced thoughts, better sleep. It helps us be ourselves. It helps us heal and overcome challenges.

To start simply close your eyes and focus on your inhales and exhales 5 times - there you go. That’s your first meditation - as simple as that.

There is always a temptation in life to choose the easy option

You do not want to meditate, but not meditating makes daily stresses seem bigger than normal

Sitting down for 10 minutes a day to clear your mind seems like a huge task, but not doing it leads to you being unfocused and unproductive

This Tuesday, learn to take life with a pinch of salt. Know that though we are presented with an easy option, it's not always the right option.

Nirmal Purja MBE - NIMS] Nirmal Purja’s accomplishment of climbing all 14 8000 peak in six months and six days is once in a life achievement. I am not sure if this will be accomplished again any time soon. Nirmal is an extraordinary human beings and was supported by the other extraordinary humans on this journey.

They made it look so easy.

I loved the grit - the determination - the passion and love for . Very happy for the community without whom none of the expeditions on will be possible.

This is a story for ages and the movie captures the sentiment so well.

What really stood out for me is how our relationship with the mountains is extremely sacred.

As he says in the movie waking in the mountains is the best form of meditation.

I am a firm believer that without grace nothing is possible.

Thank You to Nirmal Purja MBE - NIMS] for showing what’s possible. Thank You to his family and Thank You to his support (sherpas sponsors) during the entire project, which was called .

The movie is playing on . If you haven’t see the film I highly recommend for you to watch it.

We’ve all been there. At some points in our lives, we question whether we are doing well enough or are capable of facing all the uncertainties that might come up as we grow older.

Self-doubt occurs when we lack confidence or feel incapable of doing things we need to do.

Children start building self-confidence as early as 5-years-old — marking a crucial time for parents to get involved. And if we were to pass on doubt, they carry it with them throughout their life.

Loving yourself and being less self-critical builds confidence in children. And there is no such thing as too much self-esteem.

This Sunday, build your child's self-confidence by not passing on your self-doubt onto them

To see the world in black and white is to live within the contours of extremism.

This outlook neatly divides the world into right versus wrong, good versus evil, and yes versus no.

In the world of black and white, we can become overwhelmed with the desire to find "the" answer. Not only does black and white thinking show little appreciation for the world of gray, it has even less for the concept of self-reflection.

To self-reflect, especially after a decision has been made, could open one to the possibility of being wrong--which defeats the purpose of black and white thinking.

Mindfulness Meditation allows us to create a space to self-reflect and realize our inner conflicts/challenges, shedding light upon actions we can make to course correct.

It allows us to perceive the different shades of the world and appreciate the world for all that it offers.

You're not the same person you were last year.

As we grow, so does the world around us. What learnings we were taught are questioned and we learn to see the world in a new light.

This acknowledge the fact that it's okay to change our minds. As we grow, we go through constant Unlearning and Learning.

And it's okay to challenge your opinions. It's a very human and natural thing to do.
