I have a beautiful and supportive family. I am a mother to my two beautiful girls, Zoey 5 and Maddie 4. I have always been an active person who liked to stay in shape. As the years went by and I had my girls I realized that staying fit was not going to be as easy as it was when I was in my early 20’s. Creeping up on 30 was slowing making being fit harder. In 2010 I started working for a health clu
b after the birth of my second daughter. And this is where I began my journey as a FIT Mom. I had lost all of my baby weight by doing what I had done in my early 20’s, cardio…..cardio……abs. But after months of hard work the pounds came off but my backside was no longer, how I should say this, pleasant to the eye…it was now closer to the floor than ever before. I waved and my triceps…yea they waved to. “What is going on?” I would say to myself. So one day I decide to talk to a trainer because I obviously was not doing something right. I learned that day that women needed to be in the “free weight” area and strength train just as much as men did. That protein and weights would not make me look like Arnold! That day I learned I was “skinny fat” and I did not like that I was in a category with the word FAT. The next day I meet with…..my trainer! Over the next year I learned so much about my body, myself and about being FIT.I had a lot of sessions where I answered my trainer with puzzled looks on my face when he would tell me what exercise was next. You mean you want me to take my backside to the floor with that bar on my back? But each workout got better. I got stronger and my knowledge of fitness grew. I made it a goal of mine to help other women get over their fear of weight training, fear of stepping into a gym when they hate the way they look and let them know my story and how I have overcome my fears to be healthy for myself and my family. I became part of the Personal Training Sales team. Hearing other peoples stories of how they so desperately wanted to be healthy and encouraging them on getting started is now one of my passions. Seeing my clients make transformations to being healthy is such a rewarding feeling. After a long year of training I competed in my first bikini competition placing 5th at Iron Eagle, Savannah. I am so excited to try new things in life now. I am not scared to put myself out there. In 2013 I entered my first figure competition placing 2nd in Open Figure Southern Isles, Savannah. I also serve as ring girl at MMA fights in the surrounding area. In 2013 I was blessed to be chosen for the 2014 Atlanta Physiques Calendar and was picked to be on the cover. This was a moment in my fitness carrier I will always hold close to my heart and it reassured me I was following my passion. I want to be an inspiration to other women and moms out there that don’t know where to start, what to do, or are scared to fail. Thank you for reading my bio on how I came to know FITNESS.
