If you’re interviewing for a position at a physical therapy company, here are a few important questions worth asking:

🧭 Is there an onboarding or mentorship program?
Both processes can help you build confidence and transition smoothly into your new role.

⏱ How long is the onboarding process, and what does it include?
Understanding the timeline and expectations can give you a better idea of how the clinic supports new clinicians.

🤝 What kind of staff support will you have?
It’s important to know what kind of team support you’ll have to lean on as you grow into the role.

📚 What opportunities exist for continuing education?
Clinics that invest in learning help clinicians stay current with research, techniques, and best practices.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of Tulare County Deputy Randy Hoppert, the son of PRO-PT’s Stacy Schwab, who was killed in the line of duty on April 9, 2026.
Randy was just 11 years old when his mother, Stacy, became the first member of the PRO-PT team in 2002. He later went on to serve our country as a Navy corpsman from 2010 to 2015, and in 2020, he joined the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department. Randy was a true hero, dedicated to protecting both our country and our community.
Above all, Randy was a devoted husband and father. He deeply loved his wife and their son, Everett, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of their second child later this year.
For Stacy, Randy was everything, her joy and her greatest love.
We ask that you keep Stacy and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

❌ Myth: Physical therapy is just exercises and treatment from the start.

✅ Truth: Every successful treatment plan begins with a comprehensive evaluation.

Physical therapists are trained to assess movement, strength, mobility, posture, and symptom patterns through a detailed physical exam before any treatment begins.

This process helps us understand how your body is functioning and identify the underlying cause of your pain.

📋 A thorough evaluation allows your therapist to connect the dots between symptoms, movement patterns, and daily habits that may be contributing to the issue.

Only after this evaluation is complete do we begin building a treatment plan tailored specifically to your body, your goals, and your recovery timeline.

🔍 At PRO~PT, we believe the best outcomes come from understanding the full picture before starting treatment.

Has your body been dropping hints?
Schedule your first appointment and let our team of experts help uncover the real cause.

Ever wonder what the difference is between an Athletic Trainer and a Physical Therapist?

🏃 Athletic Trainers are often found on the sidelines helping athletes prevent injuries and respond quickly when injuries happen during practices or games.

💪 Physical Therapists focus on helping patients recover, rebuild strength, and restore movement after injury, surgery, or long-term pain.

Both professions play an important role in keeping people moving safely.

PRO~PT is proud to have an amazing team of Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers.

Every physical therapist at PRO~PT has a story — and Dr. Nikki Walther's is one worth knowing.

Nikki started her career as an athletic trainer, spending four years at Exeter High School before deciding to take her passion for helping people even further.

She went back to school, earned her doctorate in physical therapy from University of the Pacific, and came right back home to the Central Valley. 👟

She's been with PRO~PT ever since, growing from our Porterville clinic to Visalia Central, and even completing an orthopedic residency along the way. In her own words, it helped her grow "leaps and bounds" as a therapist — and her patients feel that every single day.

Nikki is one of many incredibly talented, deeply dedicated physical therapists across all 20 of our clinics.

Every single one of them has a journey that led them here, and we think they all deserve to be heard! 📣

Are you a PRO~PT PT with a story to share? Slide into our DMs — we'd love to feature you. 💌

PATIENTS + FRIENDS: if there's a therapist on our team whose story you're dying to hear, let us know that too!!!

We're committed to telling those stories — because they matter to our patients, our referral partners, and the communities we serve. ❤️

Happy April Fools’ day 😜

Our patients show up every day ready to move, stretch, strengthen, and push through challenges so they can get back to the people and activities they love. 💪

At PRO~PT, we believe connection is the foundation of quality recovery.

A quick joke or a silly moment between sets can make the healing process feel more manageable, and remind everyone that progress doesn’t have to feel cold.

We’re all human, looking for community as we learn, grow, and heal.

Sometimes community looks like sharing a laugh during water breaks.

Call one of our locations below to start working with a a team that takes your recovery seriously (but not ourselves too seriously).

March is National Athletic Training Month — and we couldn't let it pass without talking about the people who are often the first ones on the field. 🏈 ⚽ 🎾

Athletic trainers are so much more than sideline support. They are the ones preventing injuries before they happen, managing them when they do, and guiding athletes back to the sport they love.

They work across high schools, colleges, professional teams, and clinical settings — and the level of dedication it takes to do this job well is something that doesn't get talked about nearly enough.

At PRO~PT, we see it up close every single day. Many of our clinicians began their careers as athletic trainers, and that foundation shapes the way they approach patient care — with urgency, precision, and a deep understanding of what it means to want to get back to doing what you love.

This month is for them. The ones who show up early, stay late, and treat every athlete like they matter — because they do.

Happy National Athletic Training Month to every AT out there, especially the ones who found their way to our team. We are grateful for you. ❤️

A Day in the Life at PRO~PT:

📋 Before the first patient arrives, the day starts with a team huddle.

📅 We review schedules, align on goals, and make sure everyone is ready.

🏋️ From there, we start with patient sessions. It’s all about guiding exercises, adjusting treatment plans, tracking progress.

🧼 Equipment gets cleaned and reset between sessions.

🤝 Our team spends time answering questions while the front desk smiles and welcome in our patients.

🔐 At the end of the day, we clean one last time before locking the doors for the night ready to start the next day all over again.

At PRO~PT, professionalism isn’t measured by credentials alone.

We see it in consistency, teamwork, and compassionate care for every patient who walks through our doors.

What’s the difference between physical therapy and personal training?

Both are valuable, but they serve very different purposes.

🤸 Personal training works with healthy systems to improve strength, endurance, and performance.

💊 Physical therapy works with systems that are lacking function due to pain, dysfunction, or musculoskeletal impairment.

Physical therapy requires:
📊 A detailed evaluation
🧠 Identifying the root cause
⚖️ Understanding tissue health and loading tolerance
📋 Adjusting the plan of care based on medical history and current status
🔄 Modifying treatment as the body responds

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all solution. It requires flexibility, clinical reasoning, and ongoing reassessment.

If you’re in pain or dealing with dysfunction, your first step isn’t heavier weights.

It’s restoring balance to your system.

Call one of our many locations below, and our team will help meet your recovery goals for 2026.
