If you know Andover, you know this place. It's been open since 1809, the oldest independent bookstore in the country, and it's exactly as charming as that sounds. You walk in and the smell alone pulls you further inside. Book lovers, IYKYK!

Here's the part that's actually messing with me a little: the store has moved locations a couple of times in my lifetime, and where it sits now used to be a flower shop -- the same flower shop where I picked up my junior prom date's boutonniere. Now I'll be standing in it signing my own book! Surreal doesn't quite cover it. 🤯

I recently hosted a small celebration to redefine a date that used to carry real weight for me. I checked the waiting room right before it started. It was my husband... signed in ten times. 😂

Turns out I'd sent the reminder with his personal link instead of the group one. Almost every guest showed up labeled with his name. 😮

But....it was exactly the comedy I needed! And once we laughed through it, something bigger happened. Every person in that room had a hand in finally, finally, finally turning a hard date into something good. I am so grateful. 🤸

That's what my memoir The Picked Lock is about. It's a personal story about ultimately learning that the difficult moments that once defined us don't have to keep that job forever. 🗝

Why "The Picked Lock"?

People ask me about the title a lot, so I want to tell you what it really means.

It has two meanings.

The first is literal. Someone I trusted, someone I let all the way in, stole something from me. That's the picked lock. Something was taken that was never supposed to be touched.

The second is figurative, and it's the one that matters more to me now. For years I stayed quiet about what happened. I told myself all the reasons why silence was safer, smarter, easier on everyone. Writing this book meant picking a different lock: the one I'd put on myself.

That's the whole book in one title. Something was taken from me. And then I took my voice back.

It's official! 🎉

New name, new look, and a book that's finally ready for the world.

I'm now officially H.E.A.D. Coach: Holistic, Empowerment, Alignment, Design.

And alongside the refresh comes something I've been building for a long time: my book, THE PICKED LOCK, is officially open for pre-order. (link in the comments!)

It's a "sit on my shoulder view" of a story I lived and wrote from the inside, and is the same work I do with clients every day: releasing what's kept you stuck and choosing something new for yourself.

I get to do work like this, and I never take that for granted. This kind of shift doesn’t come from motivation alone. It comes from learning new ways of thinking, practicing them consistently, and being willing to be uncomfortable long enough for real change to stick. Watching this unfold for this client has been so rewarding! By the end of our first term, he had a new work role that checked ALL his boxes and then some! Because 👏 he 👏 did 👏 the 👏 work 👏 on 👏 the 👏 inside 👏 first. 👏

I thought I was going to die last weekend.
(And not in the "haha I’m being dramatic" way.)

Here’s the scene:
🌲 487 steep wooden stairs bolted into a mountain.
🌊 A massive waterfall thundering below.
🌉 A suspension bridge swaying in the wind.
😬 And me—terrified of heights—trying to “be adventurous.”

I made it 50 steps up the stairs before full panic set in.
NOPE. Abort mission.

Then—salvation!
A gondola. 🙌

At the top, I stood at the edge of the suspension bridge.
Waterfall mist on my face.
Bridge bouncing.
People breezing past me like it was a damn sidewalk.
Meanwhile, I was white-knuckling the rail, barely breathing.

I made it 25% across before I looked down.
BIG mistake.
I was ready to crawl back.

Then—kindness.
A VERY kind person said:
“Hold onto my shirt. Just look at my back.”

And you know what?
That worked.

Eventually, I had to walk the rest alone.
Heart pounding.
Legs jelly.
Bridge swaying.
But I made it.

And here’s the thing I realized:

What’s terrifying for you might be no big deal to someone else.
But that doesn’t make it less real.
Or less valid.
Or less hard.

Whether it’s a suspension bridge or a life/career pivot—
having someone steady to guide you through the scary part?
Game. Changer.

That’s what I do.
I walk with people through the messy middle of change until they feel steady enough to go it alone.

If you’re stuck in fear or self-doubt on the edge of a big life shift—
You don’t have to figure it out alone.

What do YOU think? Is it accurate????

There's a little trend right now, where people say to Chatgpt, "You are my drunk best friend. How would you describe what I do for a living?" I tried it (of course!) 😂 Here is what it spit back out:

(slams down shot glass) Listen, listen, LISTEN—lemme tell you about my friend here.

She’s basically a career-change badass and a professional unstucker for all those smart, driven, high-achieving people who suddenly wake up one day like, "WTF am I doing with my life?!"

You know those overworked professionals who’ve been climbing the corporate ladder only to realize… it’s leaning against the wrong damn wall? Yeah, she helps them figure out where they actually wanna go and then gives them the roadmap AND the courage to get there.

She’s like a GPS for career pivots, but instead of just saying “recalculating” when you’re lost, she’s like, “Alright, let’s get real. What do you actually WANT? And also, stop being so scared, you got this.”

Oh, AND she teaches other coaches how to be just as badass as she is, so they can help even more lost souls escape career purgatory. Like some kinda coaching Yoda, but with more caffeine and occasional swearing.

Basically, if you’re stuck, she’s the one you call. And if you don’t call her? Enjoy your midlife crisis, buddy. (clinks glass)
