Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Dr. Janet Seabrook moved with her family to Gary, Indiana at an early age. She rose from humble beginnings to become one of the country's premier physicians. Dr. Seabrook earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Tuskegee University in 1987 and a degree in Medicine from Meharry Medical College in 1994. Aspirations and a strong commitment to build on
her career in medical administration, grant writing and lobbying led her to earn an MBA from Purdue University Calumet in 2005. Since 1996, Dr. Seabrook has set at the helm of Community HealthNet Health Centers (CHN). Under her leadership, this not-for-profit, community-based primary healthcare organization upholds the mission of providing accessible, affordable and quality medical and behavioral health services to families and individuals of all income levels. As CEO of CHN, Seabrook has been afforded many professional opportunities including the oversight of five locations in Lake County, IN, appointment to the local health department board. She has also served as an influential advocate for state funding in support of community health centers in Northwest Indiana.
