Does the food you eat make you smile? 😁..and I mean a genuine feeling of happiness.
None of that “complete 180° on your preferred lifestyle in the name of weight loss” crap. 💩
Bc if you DONT enjoy the food you eat, it’s only a matter of time before you start to veer from your newly implemented & “bullet proof” nutrition plan.
& if you don’t learn how to navigate on your own, then your nutrition plan becomes useless when you become tired of your assigned foods.
The world of wellness may be simple, but it’s not easy.
Especially when you’re seeing 1,000,000 contradictory points of view that swear everyone else has it wrong.
Spoiler alert: NOBODY IS WRONG!
All the approaches have 1 very important thing in common: the caloric deficit.
This means that you don’t HAVE to hop on Keto, Vegan, Paleo, Jenny Craig, dash, etc - unless you want to.
Theoretically, all you need to do is exactly what you’re doing WHILST staying in a caloric deficit - meaning you’re burning more than you’re consuming on a weekly basis (I like to measure weekly)
Here’s a typical and practical starting point for someone:
1. ESTABLISH YOUR DEFICIT
If you prefer your food to be less nutrient dense (You know - the candy, soda, simple carb life), you will quickly learn (from experience) how calorie dense these foods are while only marginally satisfying your hunger. Bummer right?! 😭
So what next?
2. ENTER: FRUITS, VEGGIES, EGGS, MEATS N’ TATERS! 😋😜
Not only do these foods tend to pack more of a punch and keep you fuller for longer, but you can eat plenty more of them since they’re not as calorie dense.
BUT WAIT! ✋ There’s another added benefit: THEYRE MORE NUTRIENT DENSE!
You see where this is going, right?
If someone were to just tell you what to do, it wouldn’t be as effective or valuable as you learning from experience. Sometimes we have to touch the hot pan to KNOW that it’s hot and if you look at your journey this way, it will be that much more effective & lasting for you.
