Deep gratitude for Josh Rivera at for this unreal instrument. After nearly a year of watching handpan videos and listening to handpan players, it’s wonderful to finally have an instrument to practice and play on. This drum is named Aluna, which is the Kogi word for the infinite oneness that precedes the light of creation. Aluna carries the spirit of the Moose in their hide. They are non-binary, in that they embody both masculine and feminine energies. Their sound has resonated on many lands and in numerous healing ceremonies. They carry heartful rhythms and otherworldly frequencies that express animal spirits from the Northern lands of America.

It was a tremendous privilege to spend the weekend with members of the Arhuaco tribe in the village of Seykun in the Sierra Nevada jungle near Palomino, Colombia. The Arhuaco people provide us with spiritually rich cacao, mochila bags, and ancestral knowledge. 🙏🏼❤️💫

To get to the Arhuaco village of Seykun in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Colombia, there is a 2 hour hike in the jungle from the coastal city of Palomino. This photo was taken on a hill where the indigenous Arhuaco and Kogi people went to perform spiritual offerings to the sea, for fear of being attacked by the Spanish invaders were they to venture closer to the coast. The Sierra Nevada mountains are a truly magical place that is often called the heart of the Earth. Thank you Asdrubal () for taking us on this journey!
