Fall Gold.... Ginkgo!
Believe it or not, this is the best time of year to collect leaves of the Ginkgo biloba tree! The leaves have the highest medicinal concentration after they change color in the fall.
They are super easy to harvest. Simply run your hand gently down the branches and gather the ready to fall leaves by the handful. Lay them out to dry on a screen. Store in an airtight container until ready to use for tea, capsules, or make a tincture!
Ginkgo is best known for its ability to protect and enhance brain function but has many other applications as well.
Do you or someone you know have a Ginkgo tree in the yard?!

Today was a day for (side job while the tuna was in the canner). Curtido on the left ( cabbage relish with carrots, onions, serano chilis, and oregano), and Eastern European on the right (with carrots, onions, apple, fennel seed, and horseradish leaves). I've been making this for years and it's definitely a . This is our first time making but it's been on my list since visiting Central America. You find this slightly spicy condiment wherever papusas are served... Papusas are next in my 'new recipe to try' list.
