The world feels especially heavy right now, and God knows my family has faced our share of trauma and tragedy — but we are resilient. Today, I want to share something good, something truly special.
Three years ago, when my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 chronic kidney disease, there wasn’t a moment of doubt in my mind that I would go through the living donor match process. If you know us, you know how close we are — I honestly can’t imagine my life without her. There is no greater gift I could ever give than the chance to give her a kidney.
She’s given me everything: life, love, and endless support. Tomorrow, I get to give a piece of that life back to her. It’s a privilege and a blessing I’ll never take for granted.
If you’re able, please keep us in your prayers — for successful surgeries, for my mom’s body to accept my kidney, and for smooth recoveries all around. 🙏🏼
📸 First picture was taken November 2022 when we found out that I was a match. Second picture was taken October 2025 when we just happened to be out for a mom/daughter day and got the call that we were both cleared as donor/recipient and the surgery was scheduled for October 21, 2025.
(The first evaluation was done 3 years ago, and until recently my mom has kept her numbers pretty stable. Therefore we had to go through the process again for up to date results).
