First of all, other's opinions of your journey don't matter one little bit. That said, I have never received more positive feedback than when I've been transparent about my struggles. We can all do hard things... But letting someone watch you struggle through growth may just give them the courage to take that first step. Or the second. Or the one after that...
We worry about judgment -- and I'm sure I've been silently judged by many for going into this field when I've got so much to work on myself. But mostly I hear that I've helped people make fitness a priority, find confidence in themselves, and learn to love themselves a little bit more. And helping others (and myself) find inner joy and strength is all I've ever wanted.
[Drawing of a mouse writing next to crumpled up pieces of paper and a cup of coffee and a garbage can. Caption: “I thought people would look at me and say ‘She’s struggling so much. She’s clearly not good enough to do this.’ but mostly they said ‘She’s struggling so much, but she’s still doing this. That means it’s okay that it’s not always easy for me either.’ and it is. Success doesn’t have to be easy.”]
