Here are the most common reasons;

1. Settings not adapted to your skin type
If the settings aren’t properly adjusted for your skin type and hair, the follicle won’t be effectively targeted.

2. Incorrect timing between sessions
Laser only targets hair in the growth phase. If your sessions are too close or too far apart, you miss that window.

3. Hormonal imbalances (PCOS, thyroid, etc.)
Hormones can stimulate new hair growth, especially on the face. Results are still possible, but they often require more sessions, consistency, and ongoing maintenance.

4. Stubborn areas (chin, neck, lower face, inner bikini)
These areas are more hormone-sensitive and naturally resistant. Patience is key — results take longer and usually require more sessions.
I typically recommend at least 8–12 sessions, however in some cases more sessions + ongoing maintenance are needed until the desired result is achieved.

5. Improper prep before your appointment
If the area isn’t shaved properly, the laser energy gets absorbed above the skin instead of reaching the follicle.

6. Inconsistent appointments
Spacing sessions too far apart or skipping them resets your progress and delays results.

7. Wrong technology or technique
Not all lasers or providers are the same. The right settings, technology, and experience make all the difference.
