Why are herbal beauty soaps and bath bombs better than others on the market? They are free of SLS!(sodium lauryl sulfate) Now you may be wondering, what is SLS and why is it so bad? SLS is the synthetic detergent and foaming agent that is used in many bath and body products to create a rich lather in soap or foamy bubbles for your bath. SLS can be very irritating to our skin as it can strip the skin of its natural oils and cause dry skin, reactions and irritations. It also pollutes our water as it is toxic to fish and many other aquatic animals. And one more thing, this chemical is so strong it is commonly used as a pesticide to kill plants and insects. So is it really worth it? A bubble bath filled with harmful chemicals that pollute our waters, hurts the environment, AND can damage our skin? I don’t think so.
