Women Of God Pray 🙏🏾
‘A Million Women’, a Christian prayer movement in Nigeria, is mobilizing believers across the world to join a week of prayer and fasting for the country as it continues to endure one of the world's deadliest waves of anti-Christian violence.
The movement says more than 3,500 Christians were killed in Nigeria in 2025, with some reports estimating the death toll could exceed 7,000. Much of the violence has been blamed on Islamist extremist groups, including Boko Haram and armed Fulani militants, who have repeatedly targeted churches, Christian schools, villages, and worshippers.
The group also points to northern Nigeria, where 12 states enforce Islamic sharia law, a situation that Christian advocacy organizations say has contributed to discrimination and increasing pressure on Christian communities.
Calling on Christians worldwide to stand with Nigeria's persecuted Church, ‘A Million Women’ is inviting believers to join the "Esthers and Mordecais of this generation" in prayer, fasting, and repentance for the nation.
The movement's Global Fast, running from July 19–25, will conclude with a seven-hour National Solemn Assembly in Lagos on July 25, where participants will gather to pray for peace, protection, and national renewal.
Organizers say the initiative is a united cry for God's intervention, declaring that "Nigeria stands at a critical moment" and expressing hope that through prayer, the nation will experience healing, justice, and lasting peace while strengthening Christians facing persecution.
