A candle-lit .💗💗💗⁣⁣⁣
I got interested in candles, thanks to some of you who have been “feeding” me with ya candles. 😂 ⁣

But I wasn’t willing to burn my money 🔥 on Diptyque candles so I ordered soy candles from instead. I’ve been using them daily and even ordered my 3rd scented candle last night.🙈⁣
⁣
These cost S$18 each (about US$13) but if I’m not careful, I’ll soon burn all my cash on them cos I’m sensing a bit of a coming! 🙊⁣

But TBH, candles do up the level of 💆🏻‍♀️ and make all my quiet time even more enjoyable. 🙏🏼🙌🏼⁣

The 1st 2 products are my son's. 🧑🏻‍🦱 But I finished up a few hair products and even 2 face mists! 👏🏼 I also used up a can of Snake Brand Prickly Heat Powder, which is also dubbed as aircon in a tin! ⁣

Cos my left arm was always in a sling and I couldn't move it much, I developed heat rash on my arm and side.😩 This prickly heat powder provided relief for the itch and helped to ease the rash. This is a Thailand product so those in Asia will recognize it.⁣

5 water-based moisturizers that won’t clog your pores. 💦⁣⁣⁣
I used to dislike wearing moisturizers. I felt they were heavy and made my face feel smothered.😣Until I discovered water-based moisturizers that are so featherweight and hydrating. 🥰⁣
⁣
Instead of sealing in moisture from the outside like oil-based moisturizers do, these contain water and water-attracting humectant ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin to achieve hydration from within the skin. 💦⁣
⁣
Because water-based moisturizers get inside the skin and brings water into the skin, your skin will feel hydrated and plumped without excess oiliness.⁣

Help! My sunscreen is drying out my skin! 😩⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
I only use mineral sunscreens and it has to contain at least 20% zinc oxide. But the problem is, these sunscreens tend to dry out my skin as zinc oxide is also a mild astringent that makes our skin less oily. When that happens, I find my sunscreen pilling or my face turning oily real quickly.😱⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So how do I get round the problem?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
PREP MY SKIN WELL WITH HYDRATING PRODUCTS.💦⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here's my AM routine:⁣⁣
1️⃣ Spray my face with a mist toner straight after cleansing.⁣⁣
2️⃣ Layer my skin with a hydrating toner containing hyaluronic acid 3x or more.⁣⁣
3️⃣ Apply a water cream.⁣⁣
4️⃣ Apply my choice of sunscreen.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you're using a sunscreen (mineral or chemical) that contains titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide and it's drying your skin, try to 🆙 your skin's hydration with a hydrating toner followed by a water cream. I find that layering your skin with a hydrating toner multiple times really helps! 👍🏼⁣⁣

Pre-surgery wash. For human. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Not dog.⁣⁣⁣
I'll be going for a surgery to fix my left arm 🦾 tomorrow. As preparation for the surgery, I was given this HYGIN-X Bath & Shampoo containing Chlorhexidine 4% to disinfect my skin.🛁⁣
⁣
I thought it's a harsh product but was quite surprised to learn it's a gentle formula with a neutral pH free of SLS and paraben. It's also described to be enriched with emollients and is able to produce a rich lather to cleanse the scalp and body. Oh well...⁣
⁣
Anyway, I am definitely looking forward to use my both hands to apply my usual skincare very soon again. 🙌🏼⁣

So a number of you know what happened to me. I broke my left arm and I'm functioning with only my right hand now. This means I need help in my shower. 🚿 ⁣⁣⁣

My hubby has kindly stepped up to help but he’s been asking a lot of questions:⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
🤨 "Why do you have a trolley of shampoo and conditioners?"⁣⁣⁣
🤔 "Which are you using today?⁣⁣⁣
😨 "What? Why do you have different facial cleansers?"⁣⁣⁣
😧 "Wait? You're not using the same as the cleanser you used this morning?"⁣⁣⁣
😳 “Huh? Wash your face again? Didn’t you just washed your face?”⁣⁣⁣
😲 “Er...what is konjac sponge?”⁣⁣⁣
🙄 "Which shower gel do I use on your back?"⁣⁣⁣
🧐 "And this is for where again?"⁣⁣⁣

Friends, I promise you my bath routine is extremely uncomplicated. My husband is just clueless cos he’s so used to one shampoo and one face wash. 😂⁣⁣⁣

I guess it will take him a while to figure. Or maybe never. Good thing I can still apply my facial skincare or he’ll go bananas. 🙈🍌⁣
