Most parents today are exhausted.
We're constantly worried about safety, studies, screen time, behaviour, and the future.
But what if the answer isn't more control?
What if it's more trust?
One of the biggest lessons from Japanese parenting is that children learn best when they're given opportunities to do things for themselves.
From carrying their own bags to solving small problems independently, the focus is on building capability, not dependency.
Maybe the goal isn't to make life easier for our children.
Maybe it's to make our children capable of handling life.
What do you think is more important today: obedience or independence?
