Why do babies cry right after birth? 👶💭

And is it normal if they don’t?

WATCH till the end 👀
SAVE this reel 💾

After birth, baby starts breathing on their own for the first time 🤍
That sudden change often makes them cry.

✨ Crying helps clear fluid from the lungs
✨ Helps lungs expand
✨ Supports healthy breathing

Some babies may not cry immediately 👇
Doctors may gently stimulate them, and they cry a little later.

In some rare cases, baby may be calm but still healthy — if breathing and movements are normal 🤍

Every baby is different 💫

How is your baby’s weight estimated during pregnancy? 🤰👶

WATCH till the end 👇
SAVE this reel 💾

From the second trimester, scans can estimate baby’s weight — called EFW (Estimated Fetal Weight)

It is based on 4 key measurements 👇

✨ Head width (BPD)
✨ Head circumference
✨ Abdominal circumference
✨ Femur length (thigh bone)

These values are used in a formula to estimate weight 💫

Important 🤍
It’s only an estimate — not an exact weight.

Baby’s position, fluid levels & scan variations can affect results.
So actual weight may vary by 200–500 grams.

During pregnancy, don’t make these 5 WATER mistakes! 🤰💧

WATCH till the end 👇
SAVE this reel 💾

❌ Not knowing the right quantity
✔️ Too little is a problem, too much is also a problem
✔️ Around 2–3 litres per day is ideal

❌ Waiting until you feel thirsty
✔️ By then, your body is already dehydrated
✔️ Set reminders or use a water tracking app

❌ Drinking too much at once
✔️ It won’t absorb properly & may affect digestion
✔️ Sip small amounts throughout the day

❌ Ignoring extra hydration needs
✔️ Vomiting or excessive sweating = more water needed
✔️ Add 1–2 extra glasses + include electrolytes like coconut water or lemon water

❌ Counting tea/coffee as hydration
✔️ They can actually dehydrate you
✔️ Include water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumber & orange 🍉🥒🍊

Small habits… big impact 💯

Pregnancy la diabetes varuma… even if you didn’t have it before? 🤰💭

Yes — it’s called Gestational Diabetes (GDM)

WATCH till the end 👇

Here’s a simple explanation 🤍

Your body uses a hormone called insulin to move sugar from blood into cells.
But during pregnancy, the placenta releases hormones that can reduce insulin efficiency.

When your body can’t produce enough insulin to manage this…
👉 Blood sugar levels increase
👉 GDM can develop (usually around 6–7 months)

In most cases, it settles after delivery 🤍

Who has higher risk? 👇
⚠️ Overweight
⚠️ Family history of diabetes
⚠️ PCOS
⚠️ Previous GDM

Don’t worry — it’s manageable with proper care 🩺
