⁉️But as we are quiet quitting (aka only doing what is only required of us in our workplace) 👉🏼my question now is…”but are we still carrying over that mentality into our own personal life?”
🔋👇🏼Let me know in the comment section what tips you have that helps you be productive in more healthy ways.
☠️Usually, toxic productivity is a manifestation of unpleasant feelings you haven’t addressed.
As a recovering workaholic, I used my productivity as a way to hide insecurities around my worth. It’s like a dopamine hit every time I’d get 👏praised/💰rewarded for what I did.
It’s something that I’ve worked through in the last few years, but sometimes it still shows up.
☣️Toxic productivity doesn’t only happen at work - it can still seep into our personal lives as well.
This unhealthy desire to be productive can look like▪️an overextension of ourselves to our communities, ▪️a desire to push our body to extremes to fit what we see online, ▪️a need to always seek “fun” activities even if it depletes our energy rather than restores it, etc.
✅If this sounds like you, here are 3 Tips that can help you overcome Toxic Productivity:
1️⃣ — 🗓Block off Time for Rest in your Calendar. Make room for YOU. As humans, we need to continually be able to rest & recharge. This is a great place to schedule in your self-care.
2️⃣ — 🎯Prioritize tasks based on your Goals and/or Values. Ask yourself whether what you need to do today is contributing or taking away from what you want.
3️⃣ —⏳Normalize longer response time. Nowadays, notifications on our phones are pushing us to respond faster. Choose how long it will take you to respond with different forms of communication, and if appropriate, communicate them out so folks will know.
