Know your risk. Know your normal. Know when to speak to your doctor.

A new lump or thickening. A change in breast size or shape. Skin changes. Ni**le changes. Unusual discharge.

Most breast lumps are not cancer, but a new or unusual change is still worth discussing with your doctor.

Those words can make your stomach drop.

When your doctor sends you for further investigation, it's easy to jump straight to the worst- case scenario.

But investigation doesn't automatically mean bad news.

Sometimes imaging confirms a suspected problem. Sometimes it helps rule something out. Sometimes it gives your doctor information they simply couldn't get from the consultation alone.

One scan doesn't tell the whole story. It's one piece of a much bigger clinical picture.

These symptoms need urgent medical attention.

When a stroke is suspected or being evaluated, doctors use advanced brain imaging like MRI to look closely at brain tissue, to help determine what has happened and guide treatment.

Blood tests, blood pressure readings and a physical examination can tell your doctor a lot. Sometimes they need more information.

Depending on what's being investigated, imaging can provide a view of structures and blood flow that can't be assessed from symptoms or routine tests alone.

Your doctor decides whether imaging is appropriate. Our job is to provide the imaging that helps form part of that bigger clinical picture.
