[STEPFATHER ARRESTED IN HERTZOGVILLE FOLLOWING A FATAL STABBING INCIDENT]

Hertzogville police have arrested a 42-year-old stepfather for murder and one count of attempted murder. This follows an incident where a 21-year-old male was fatally stabbed, and the female victim sustained injuries to the head amid a domestic dispute.

On Saturday, 1 August 2026, at approximately 19:30 police were summoned to a stabbing incident at Malebogo Location. On arrival at the scene, members were directed to the back of a shack. There, they found an african male lying unresponsive in a pool of blood. The victim was discovered with a stab wound on the left side of the neck.

Police confiscated the knife alleged to be used in the commission of the crime and booked it in as evidence. The male suspect was subsequently arrested.

He is expected to appear before the Hertzogville Magistrate's Court soon. He is facing a charge of murder and one count of attempted murder.
