Happy Secretary Day to the real MVPs of Village Health 🌿

Behind every appointment booked, phone answered, patient reassured, problem solved (and occasional fire put out 😅), are these four incredible ladies.

Angelene, Vanessa, Lee and Rene — thank you for being the calm in the chaos, the friendly faces our patients know and trust, and for handling the million little things that keep Village Health running every single day.

So much of what you do happens quietly behind the scenes, but it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.

Today we celebrate YOU — our reception team, problem-solvers, organisers, multitaskers and all-round superstars. 💚

Happy Secretary Day! We appreciate you more than you know. 🌿

🌸 HELLO, SPRING! 🌸

Spring has officially arrived — bringing warmer days, beautiful blooms… and for some of us, a whole lot of sneezing! 🤧🌿

If spring tends to bring out your itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, blocked nose or sinus troubles, you’re definitely not alone.

A few simple ways to make allergy season a little easier:

🌿 Keep windows closed on particularly windy days
🚿 Shower and change clothes after spending lots of time outdoors
🛏️ Wash bedding regularly
👃 Consider a saline nasal rinse
💊 Speak to your doctor about the right allergy treatment if symptoms are bothering you

And remember — not every blocked nose or cough is “just allergies.” If symptoms are persistent, worsening, or you’re simply not sure, it’s worth getting checked.

Here’s to warmer days, fresh starts and hopefully fewer sneezes! 🌸☀️

Spring is almost here—which is lovely news for some of us and slightly less exciting news for those who struggle with seasonal allergies! 🤧

If spring usually brings sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, a blocked or runny nose, coughing or an asthma flare-up, now is a good time to prepare.

Check that:
✓ Your repeat prescriptions are up to date
✓ Your asthma pump or allergy medication hasn’t expired
✓ You know how and when to use your medication
✓ Your child’s school has the correct medication and instructions
✓ You have discussed worsening symptoms with your doctor

A little preparation can make the change of season much easier.

The mental load is often the work nobody else sees.

It’s remembering the appointments, school dates, groceries, medication, birthdays, forms, family plans and the hundred other little things that keep everyday life moving.

When that load becomes too heavy for too long, it can start affecting your sleep, mood, concentration, relationships and physical health.

You don’t have to wait until you are completely overwhelmed before asking for help.

Speak to someone you trust, share the load where possible and reach out for professional support if you are struggling. Looking after your mental health is part of looking after your health.

20 August — World Mosquito Day

It may be World Mosquito Day, but unfortunately mosquitoes don’t need a special invitation to make an appearance! 🦟

For most of us, a mosquito bite is simply itchy and irritating. However, mosquitoes can also transmit illnesses such as malaria in certain areas.

If you are travelling to a malaria-risk area, speak to your doctor before your trip about whether preventative medication is recommended for your destination.

You can also reduce your risk by:

• Using an appropriate insect repellent
• Wearing long sleeves and trousers, particularly from dusk to dawn
• Using mosquito nets or screens
• Following your preventative medication instructions carefully

A little preparation before travelling can make a big difference.

Mole-mapping special reminder 💁

Have you booked your skin check yet? 🔎

Dr Mark Hadley-Grave’s August mole-mapping special is still running, with 25% off mole-mapping appointments until 30 August.

Mole mapping uses detailed images to create a record of the spots and moles on your skin. This makes it easier to monitor them and identify changes over time.

It may be particularly helpful if you:

• Have many moles
• Have noticed a mole changing
• Have a personal or family history of skin cancer
• Have fair skin or a history of significant sun exposure
• Simply want a thorough baseline skin check

Appointments are limited, so please book in advance.
