Life Dalview Hospital welcomes Dr Keressa Naidoo, a dedicated and compassionate general surgeon whose journey is shaped by hard work, personal experiences, and an unwavering determination to serve society in the best way she knows—through the art and science of surgery. Her medical career has taken her across South Africa, enriching her expertise and deepening her commitment to patient care. She began her journey at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine (UKZN), where she earned her undergraduate degree.
She then completed her internship at Stanger Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, followed by a community service year in Qwa-Qwa at Mofumahadi Manapo Mopeli Hospital in the Eastern Free State. The time she spent serving this community profoundly influenced both her perspective on life and the kind of doctor she aspired to become. She then gained invaluable experience as a trauma medical officer at Tygerberg Hospital in the Western Cape. However, her true passion had always been surgery, and she was fortunate to realise this dream at the University of Pretoria, where she trained as a general surgeon. She also earned a Master’s in Medicine in general surgery from the University of Pretoria.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Naidoo is a devoted wife and mother whose compassion extends far beyond her own household. She firmly believes that every individual—whether a patient, colleague, or hospital staff member—deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and empathy. Her patient-centred approach to general surgery is built on honesty, transparency, and a resolute commitment to providing the highest standard of surgical care.
