Through THE NAKED CEO — Building Proto Care. Exposing the truth behind the journey, Suzette shares the thinking, clinical foundations, technical decisions, challenges, lessons and milestones shaping Proto Care Pty Ltd as we continue to build.

This is not simply a story about what we are creating. It is about why we are creating it, the decisions behind the vision and what it takes to turn that vision into reality.

Today we celebrate the cultures, languages, stories and people that make South Africa so beautifully ours.

At Proto Care (Pty) Ltd, we have a very special place in our hearts for our and professionals who continue caring for our communities — even on the days when many of us get to stay home.

But today, we also want to recognise everyone who keeps showing up and serving. Our waiters, cashiers, hospitality teams, security staff, emergency services, all healthcare workers and so many others who are at work while the rest of us enjoy the public holiday.

So, if you are at the shops, stopping for coffee or enjoying a meal at a restaurant today, give the person serving you a big smile and say thank you. 💙

Because caring for people does not only happen in healthcare.

At Proto Care (Pty) Ltd, we believe nurses are so much more than a profession — they are advocates, educators, leaders, innovators and often the steady heartbeat of healthcare itself.

Whether at the bedside, in communities, in leadership, in education, in healthcare technology, or building businesses of their own, nurses continue to shape the future of healthcare in remarkable ways.

As Proto Care continues onboarding nurses onto our platform and building ways for patients to connect with nurses near them, we remain deeply committed to empowering nurses, supporting nurse-led care and helping create greater visibility for the incredible work nurses do every day.

Happy Workers’ Day | 1 May 🇿🇦

Workers’ Day reminds us of a powerful truth — the ability to work, to contribute, and to build something meaningful is not something to take for granted.

In , this day carries deep significance. It reflects not only the global fight for workers’ rights, but also our own journey through inequality, resilience, and transformation. It honours those who stood up, organised, and helped shape a more just and inclusive society.

Today, I find myself reflecting with gratitude.
- Grateful that I get to work.
- Grateful that I get to build.
- And especially grateful for the people building alongside me.

To my entire Proto Care (Pty) Ltd team — thank you. Your commitment, your growth, and your belief in what we are creating together mean more than words can fully capture.💙

Even while bootstrapping, with support between Shaper, Absa Group, Cloudflare and AWS Startup Credits, and my own contributions, and every volunteer, we are doing something that matters. We are not just building a platform — we are contributing to South Africa’s future by:
