Did you know that after neutering, your cat’s body can change faster than you think?

Their appetite may increase by 50%, while their energy needs can drop by 25%. That means they may feel hungrier… even though their body needs fewer calories.

Without nutritional changes, neutered cats are over 3x more likely to become overweight.

That’s the metabolic paradox:
More appetite. Less energy needed. Higher risk of weight gain.

✅ The good news? With the right nutrition and daily habits, you can help support your cat’s healthy weight after neutering.

🐱 Planning to neuter your cat, or recently done it? Ask your vet about adapted nutrition for this new life stage.

5 signs in our pets we often underestimate, but shouldn’t!

Sometimes we notice something different in our pets and think, “It’s probably nothing.” Or maybe we’ve been seeing it for a while and started to think it’s normal.

But in many cases, these small signs can be warning signals that something isn’t quite right. If we ignore them for too long, our best friend’s health could be affected. That’s why we always recommend booking an appointment with your trusted vet clinic if you notice any change in your pet.

Here are 5 signs you should pay more attention to:

🔴 Bad breath
It’s not normal. It may point to periodontal disease, or even digestive or kidney-related issues.
🔴 Scratching or licking more than usual
This could be linked to allergies, parasites, or even emotional stress.
🔴 Drinking more water than normal
Increased water intake can be a sign of kidney disease, diabetes, and more.
🔴 Changes in weight
Whether they lose or gain weight without any change in diet, it’s worth checking.
🔴 Diarrhoea
If their stools don’t look or feel normal and it keeps happening, don’t ignore it.

Remember: once-off symptoms may not be serious, but if they persist or keep coming back, it’s time to check with your vet.

A microchip may be small… but it can make a life-changing difference.

If your beloved pet ever gets lost, a microchip gives them the best possible chance of finding their way safely back home. Collars and tags can fall off, but a microchip provides permanent identification that lasts a lifetime.

In fact, over 45% of microchipped pets are reunited with their owners once found.

The procedure is quick, simple, and safe — but the peace of mind it brings lasts forever.

Microchipping is more than just identification; it’s part of being a responsible pet owner and ensuring your pet always has a voice when they need one most.

Speak to your vet about microchipping your pets and remember to keep your contact details updated.

❌ MYTH: “Indoor cats don’t need much prevention or regular vet visits.”

✅ REALITY: Even cats who never leave the house can still be exposed to health risks. Fleas, internal parasites, viruses and bacteria can find their way indoors through shoes, clothing, visitors, other pets, or tiny gaps around the home.

That’s why indoor cats still need:
✔️ Regular vaccinations
✔️ Parasite prevention
✔️ Routine vet check-ups

Indoor life may be safer, but it’s not completely risk-free. Even fleas can affect indoor cats!

Speak to your vet about the best prevention plan to help keep your feline friend healthy, protected, and purring happily for years to come. 🐱

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a gradual, ongoing loss of kidney function — and it’s more common than many pet owners realise.

Up to 35 % of cats may be affected by CKD
This increases to 80 % of cats over 15 years old
Up to 1 in 10 dogs are also affected

Your pet’s kidneys play a vital role in filtering toxins, balancing fluids, and keeping their body functioning properly — so when they’re not working well, it impacts overall health.

CKD is manageable. With early detection and the right care, many pets — especially cats — can live happy, comfortable lives for years after diagnosis.

Successful management of kidney disease depends on:

Close monitoring
Consistent care at home
Regular vet check-ups

Every pet is different, so treatment plans are tailored to their individual needs — making teamwork between you and your veterinarian essential.

Keep an eye on changes in drinking, appetite, or energy
Schedule regular vet check-ups — especially for senior pets
Discuss preventative care and support options early

Supporting your pet’s kidneys can make a meaningful difference to their quality of life.

Pronefra is a highly palatable liquid supplement designed to help maintain balanced kidney function in both cats and dogs.

Your pet’s kidney health is key to their overall wellbeing.
Speak to your veterinarian about how to protect and support your pet — because early care can make all the difference.

Dust mites or fleas? 🤔 What’s making your pet itch?

Itching in dogs and cats is one of the most uncomfortable symptoms for them, and it can really affect their quality of life. There can be many possible causes, so if you notice your pet scratching more than usual, or even that typical nibbling on their paws or legs, it’s a sign that something is bothering your best friend. In that case, it’s important to visit your vet clinic.

Today, we’re looking at two possible causes of itching: dust mites and fleas. Keep reading!

Fleas: the visible enemy

They can cause sudden, intense itching.
Scratching is especially common around the base of the tail, belly or thighs.
Tiny black dots in the fur can be a sign of fleas, those little dots are flea dirt!
Sometimes, scratching can lead to wounds or scabs.
➡️ Some pets may have a strong allergic reaction to flea saliva.

Dust mites: the invisible enemy

The itching is usually more constant than intense.
It often affects areas like the face, ears, paws or belly.
It may also come with sneezing or watery eyes.
It’s more common in pets who live indoors.
➡️ It’s an environmental allergy, just like in humans.

So… how can you tell the difference?

If it’s sudden and intense ➡️ fleas may be the first thing to suspect.
If it’s persistent and there’s no clear cause ➡️ it could be an environmental allergy.

In both cases, your pet needs proper veterinary care and assessment. Because when it comes to itching, the right treatment or prevention should always come from your vet!

Ever noticed how your pet seems “off” in stressful situations?? 🐾
A move, loud noises, new routines, being left alone… stress isn’t just emotional, it can affect your pet’s health too.

Here’s the thing 👇
When dogs and cats are stressed for long periods, their bodies focus on “survival mode”, taking a toll on their physical condition and overall well-being.

Common signs of stress in pets can include:

• Changes in appetite
• Digestive issues
• Lower energy or hiding more than usual
• Lethargy or changes in physical condition

The good news? Supporting emotional balance helps support their overall health too.
Creating calm routines, offering safe spaces, regular play, and gentle exercise all make a difference.

For extra support during stressful moments, Anxitane can help promote relaxation and emotional balance, which in turn supports overall physical and emotional well-being

Because a calmer pet is often a healthier pet 🐶🐱

International Day of Families: because pets are part of the family too 🐾🤍

Every family is different, but they all have something in common: love, affection and a place where you feel safe.

And for many of us, home wouldn’t be the same without them: little paws on the floor, wagging tails, purrs, routines, and those tiny moments that mean everything. 🐶🐱

🤍 They’re unconditional company
They’re always there. On the good days and, above all, on the hardest ones.

🤍 They teach us how to care
Responsibility, empathy, patience and daily commitment.

🤍 They bring us closer together
Walks, games, cuddles and shared memories that stay with us forever.

🤍 They support our emotional wellbeing
They make us laugh, help us slow down and fill our homes with life.

🤍 They’re part of every decision
Holidays, moves, routines, daily care… when they’re family, we think about their needs too.

Because family isn’t only about who shares your blood.

It’s also about who shares your life.

MYTH vs REALITY: Bad Breath in Pets 🐾
Many pet owners believe that bad breath is just part of having a dog or cat… but that’s not quite true.

❌ MYTH:
“It’s normal for dogs and cats to have bad breath.”

✅ REALITY:
Bad breath is not normal. It’s often an early warning sign that something isn’t right in your pet’s mouth.

It can be linked to:
Plaque and tartar build-up
Gum inflammation or infection
Periodontal disease
Broken or damaged teeth

In some cases, bad breath may even point to digestive or kidney issues — so it should never be ignored.

🚨 Red flags to watch for:
Strong, persistent odour
Red or swollen gums
Difficulty eating or chewing

If you notice any of these signs, it’s time to book a check-up with your vet.

✔️ Prevention is key:
Brush your pet’s teeth regularly with pet-safe toothpaste
Use dental chews or oral hygiene solutions
Keep up with routine vet visits

A healthy mouth plays a big role in your pet’s overall wellbeing — and fresher breath means more enjoyable cuddle time too.
