Another Monday meal dusted! ❤️🍽️

Today I'm feeling incredibly proud of myself because I actually overcooked for a change... and that meant I was able to hand out extra meals to a few more people in the community. Those unexpected blessings are always my favourite. 🥹

While I was busy cooking this morning, one of my followers messaged me to tell me that they'd ended up chatting to another community member about what I'm doing here. It was honestly one of the loveliest messages I've ever received and exactly the motivation I needed to keep going today. Sometimes you don't realise how many people are quietly cheering you on. ❤️

Today's menu was my version of Bolognese – a delicious combination of mince, macaroni, and a creamy cheese sauce. There were so many different elements to prepare, but it came together beautifully and tasted absolutely amazing.

What many people don't see is that every Monday starts with me doing all the planning, shopping, prep, and cooking myself. Then once the meals are packed, I personally deliver them to each household, which usually takes around two hours. It's a lot of work, but it's always worth it when I see the smiles and relief on people's faces.

I can't wait to see where this project goes. My dream is to continue growing this mom community and helping more mamas and families - not only here in Durban, but across South Africa. 🇿🇦

Thank you to every single person who follows, shares, encourages or simply believes in what we're building together. You're helping make this possible. ❤️

❤️ This absolutely made my day!

Our June Mama of the Month, Cheri-Lee, sent me this photo after doing her grocery shopping this weekend with her grocery voucher.

Every month when a mama sends me a photo like this, it reminds me exactly why this project exists. It's not just about groceries — it's about easing the pressure a little, taking one worry off a mama's shoulders, and reminding her that she's seen and supported.

Mamas carry so much every single day. They deserve a break, not more stress. They deserve moments of relief, kindness, and community. ❤️

If there's a mama in your life who could use a helping hand, or if you'd like to nominate yourself for our July Grocery Voucher, please fill in the nomination form in the comments below.

⚠️ Please note: A new nomination form is required every month, so even if you've entered before, you'll need to complete the July form.

And while we're celebrating, I have a little dream... ✨

I truly hope this blessing can grow bigger and bigger. Imagine what we could do if local businesses and brands came on board to help us spoil and support even more deserving mamas. Together, we could make an even greater difference in the lives of mothers who need it most.

I don't believe in sharing good acts on social media for recognition. But I do think that sometimes sharing these moments can encourage others to show a little more kindness, empathy, and compassion.

Today, one of the pensioners on my feeding scheme needed a little extra support. His carer is currently in hospital, so I made some extra food and dropped it off for him. Jack is off daycare at the moment, so my little sidekick came along for the visit.
The gentleman was so grateful that he gave Jack R20 — R10 for him and R10 for his sister to buy chips. You should have seen Jack's face! It absolutely made his day.

Later, we took one of the boys from the feeding scheme to get a new pair of school shoes. He had told us that the other children were laughing at him because his shoes were broken. No child should have to carry that burden 😭

Today was a reminder that kindness doesn't always have to be grand. Sometimes it's a warm meal, a small gift, or a pair of shoes that can make all the difference.

Most importantly, our children are always watching. If we want the next generation to be kind, compassionate and caring, it's our job to show them what that looks like every day. ❤️

💚 Meet Our June Mzansi Mama – Cheri-Lee 💚
Please join me in sending love to Cheri-Lee, our June Grocery Voucher recipient! 🌸

Cheri-Lee is a single mama who has faced a challenging few months after being unemployed when the campaign she was working on came to an end. Although she recently started a new job, her first salary is already going towards catching up on rent and other expenses.

She shared that this grocery voucher will help put food on the table for her and her son, ease some of the financial pressure she's been carrying, and give her a little breathing room when she needs it most. 💚

In her own words, this blessing reminded her that kindness still exists and that sometimes a helping hand arrives exactly when it's needed most.
Thank you to everyone who supports this initiative and helps us uplift mamas in our community. Together, we're making a real difference, one mama at a time. 🌸

Today's feeding scheme meal was chosen by my 5-year-old, and he picked one of his absolute favourites – butter chicken curry with rice and roti. ❤️

Another Monday meal done and dusted.

It's been one of the craziest weeks. Actually, I feel like I say that every week lately! Last week my laptop broke, I got it repaired, and yesterday something else went wrong on the same MacBook. Between that, one half of my pigeon pair being back at daycare while the other is still at home, and trying to keep all the balls in the air, it's been a lot.

People often ask me why I don't make these meals as cheaply as possible. The truth is that single mamas, children, and pensioners deserve good meals too. They deserve meals made with care, dignity, and love — the same kind of food I would put on my own family's table.

This project has always been about more than just food. It's about community, kindness, empathy, and reminding people that they matter.
I know so many people are struggling right now. Financially, emotionally, mentally — life feels heavy for a lot of families. If that's you, please hang in there. Don't be hard on yourself. Take it one day at a time and give yourself the same grace you give everyone else.

Wishing you all a beautiful week ahead. 🌟

The little things we teach today become the values our children carry tomorrow. 💛💚💙

“Thank you.” “Please.” “Sorry.”
Three simple words with the power to shape kind, respectful, thoughtful little humans.

In the beautiful chaos of raising kids in Mzansi, it’s often these everyday moments that leave the biggest impact.

No mom is the same.

Some are soft and gentle.
Some are loud, playful, and full of energy.

Some have colour-coded schedules.
Some are just hoping everyone gets fed today.

Some stay home.
Some head to work before the sun rises.
Some are building businesses between nap times.
Some are doing it all while running on cold coffee and two hours of sleep.

Some have support.
Some are figuring it out on their own.

Our homes look different.
Our journeys look different.
Our motherhood looks different.

But I think what connects us all… 🤍
is that we show up every single day.

Even when we’re exhausted.
Even when we doubt ourselves.
Even when the day doesn’t go to plan.

We show up with love.
With patience.
With fierce protection.
With “I’ll try again tomorrow” energy.

And maybe that’s the beauty of motherhood…

Not that we all do it the same,
but that love keeps bringing us back, every single day.

It’s never a dull moment being me. 🫠

Unfortunately both my little ones are off daycare again, and somehow my Macbook screen got cracked💔

Which is... less than ideal when you have a full-time online job.

Then, because apparently chaos wanted a full guest appearance this week: ✨ I sent myself a Checkers Sixty60 order to the COMPLETELY wrong address… 2 hours away. 😭

I accidentally packed my PHONE into one of the meal boxes I was giving out today. Yes. My actual phone.

My car (after my recent fender bender) got towed to the panel beaters today.

And it’s ONLY TUESDAY.

Needless to say, I had a proper ugly cry for a few hours because the MacBook repair quote? R8000.
Yes. R8. THOUSAND. 😭😭😭

BUT... even in the middle of absolute chaos, something beautiful happened.
When I mentioned to the feeding scheme mamas that I couldn’t do meals yesterday because of my laptop situation, I had so many incredible moms immediately offering help.

One offered screens I could plug my broken laptop into. Another mama literally lent me her son’s laptop so I could keep working.

Women who don’t even know me that well… showing up without hesitation. 🥹

And despite the tears, the broken tech, the missing phone, the delivery disaster, and the general circus... I STILL made meals for the feeding scheme today and personally delivered them. ❤️

Because that’s the power of community. That’s the power of kindness. That’s what happens when women show up for each other.
Life has been throwing punches lately, but today reminded me that even in the chaos, there is still so much goodness.

Now excuse me while I answer 473 overdue emails on my borrowed laptop 😬

A love like no other. 🤍
