🧑 CHILD PROTECTION WEEK | DAY 4

🚦 STOP. LOOK. LISTEN. THINK.

Road safety is one of the most important life skills we can teach our children. Whether they're walking to school, crossing a parking lot, or travelling in a vehicle, understanding basic road safety rules can help prevent serious accidents.

πŸ’¬ What road safety rule do you remind your children about most often?

🧑 CHILD PROTECTION WEEK | DAY 3

πŸ“ž DOES YOUR CHILD KNOW HOW TO CALL FOR HELP?

In an emergency, every second counts. One of the most important safety skills a child can learn is how to call for help and communicate important information clearly.

Children should know:
βœ… How to call 112 from a cellphone
βœ… Their full name and surname
βœ… Their home address
βœ… How to explain what has happened
βœ… To stay calm and listen carefully to instructions

Many children know how to use a phone, but would they know what to say in an emergency?

🧑 CHILD PROTECTION WEEK

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Who are your child's 3 trusted adults?

One of the most important safety lessons a child can learn is knowing who to turn to when they need help. A trusted adult is someone your child feels safe talking to if they are scared, worried, hurt, lost, or uncomfortable about something that has happened. Help your child identify at least three trusted adults they can contact when they need support.

🧑 National Child Protection Week | 29 May – 5 June

At Safe Kids, we believe that protecting children goes beyond preventing abuse and neglect. It also means creating safe environments where children can learn, play, explore, and grow with confidence.

Throughout National Child Protection Week, we'll be sharing practical safety tips and simple actions that parents, caregivers, teachers, and children can take to help keep children safe, protected, and prepared for emergencies.

Because every child deserves to be:

βœ… Safe at home
βœ… Safe at school
βœ… Safe online
βœ… Safe around water
βœ… Safe on the roads
βœ… Safe in an emergency

Together, we can raise awareness, build confidence, and empower children with lifesaving knowledge and skills.

πŸ’› Every Child Safe. Every Child Protected.

This Child Protection Week, we're helping families build safer communities through education, awareness, and practical lifesaving skills.

Because protecting children starts with empowering them.

πŸ”₯ Creating Awareness Saves Lives πŸ”₯

Burn injuries can happen in seconds - but the impact can last a lifetime.

Creating awareness around burn prevention, emergency response, and proper burn care can save lives, reduce long-term complications, and protect vulnerable children and families.

The South African Burn Society works to improve burn care, education, prevention, and support across South Africa through training and awareness initiatives.

Awareness is powerful.
Education protects.
Prevention saves lives. πŸ’›
