Children may need different types of support at different stages of development. Hear directly from occupational, speech and play therapists as they explain their roles and how they may support children in different ways.

If you have any concerns about your child’s development, a GP or paediatrician can help assess your child and guide the most appropriate support pathway.

28 September is World Retina Day

Your retina is a thin layer of tissue at the back of the eye that plays a key role in vision. Damage to the retina can lead to vision loss and, in some cases, blindness if left untreated.
Watch for warning signs such as:
• Blurred or distorted vision
• Sudden flashes of light
• Floaters (small spots drifting across your vision)
• Loss of peripheral (side) vision

Regular eye examinations can help detect retinal conditions early, when treatment is often most effective.

Take care of your sight. If you notice any changes in your vision, consult an eye care professional as soon as possible.

At Life Suikerbosrand Hospital you can consult our Ophthalmologist, Dr Shariff.
